Velvet in early Spring??

I bought this beautiful Floor length royal blue evening gown with short sleeves for a “strictly formal” wedding but now I’m second guessing whether it’s too late in the season to wear it. Wedding is at the end of March in Vancouver (rainy season). Help!! To return or to wear? Thank you!!

I think it sounds fine, but I'm not so into these rules or in Vancouver. Hopefully someone who knows more will respond.

Also not from Vancouver, but I think unless you think you will be too hot or cold, then there is no problem with wearing it. It sounds like a lovely dress.

Blue and short sleeves will be fine in spring. The cleavage looks a bit deep for a wedding though ...

i think its fab for a formal wedding! and like leather and white jeans i think velvet is now accepted as a multi season fabric.

If Amal Clooney can wear a floor-length velvet dress in June, you can certainly wear one in spring! It's lovely!

It's gorgeous! Velvet is a funny fabric, I am struggling at the moment to convince myself to wear some outside of the christmas season. My brain knows it's fine, but I can't help but struggle. One of my goals for 2020 is to get over this. You are helping

End of March in Vancouver will probably mean people will go both ways - some will wear spring and summery dresses even though it's a touch too early, some will wear wintery things at the end of the season like you are. I think you are fine either way. But i'd make sure you are not outside for any of it - floor length Velvet and soggy March Vancouver weather don't mix!
