Can you overdo a formula?
I picked up another pair of skinnies from H&M - this time in a wine colour (pic 3 shows the colour best). Paired with a tucked in H/T blouse. So comfortable - but maybe too predictable for me?

2nd question - have just discovered I don't need a tri-pod, can balance camera on a pile of books in DDs room. The self-time is a wonderful thing - but any tricks for focusing? I find it a little hit and miss.

I think this look is utterly fab! Not too predictable to me!

As for the camera, I find as long as I stay in the middle of the shot the auto-focus works pretty well!

GREAT look. I really love this. Maybe I should look for some coloured jeans at H&M. How do you find their fit?

I have never been able to get my camera to focus on its own. It just always comes out blurry. So I am no help whatsoever with that.

Fab outfit, I have to agree.It doesn't sound predictable to me but only you can tell how confortable you are with repeating formulas and outfits.

MK - good advice about staying in the centre, I could probably experiment with the autofocus feature as well. Now I just have to figure out what to do with my hands now that I don't have to hold a camera.
Suz - H&M sizing works for me, although I have to size up to a 6 (normally I am 2-4). My cobalt blue skinnies were from H&M as well - and I've been pleased that they don't bag out.

When the skinnies look that good, you should keep wearing them.

I find the only real issue I have with the self-timer is if there is a large object closer to the camera. I took the pics in the kitchen for a while and half the pics were blurry. I finally realized it was that the fridge was slight closer to the camera and mucking with the auto focus.

I love the wine jeans on you. I do have a problem with H&M and Zara jeans totally stretching out during the day. I wonder if the quality is different here than in other places.
Alas, the ways of auto focus are a mystery to me.

I like tnis look and I think we all find formulas that work for us and repeat them from time to time. I don't think that's too predictable.

Hmm Shevia - this is too bad about your experience with H&M jeans. Both the skinnies I purchased are 97-98% cotton with a small percentage of spandex. I think the spandex helps keep the shape - and I am very careful with washing - always cold water and air dry.

If it works this well don't mess with the success of the formula. The HT is a super print and the wine color perfect for this season.

This is such a great look for you- that is when it should be a formula. Not all of us can make the blouse tucked in look work but it certainly does for you! I love black, white and wine- very sophisticated pallette! You look sensational!

Totally agree AG - endless indeed - gives the closet a good work out, yet I can put together an outfit that still feels "fresh".

Love this look! I usually don't worry too much about focusing, but I either try to stand far enough away so you don't notice focus issues, or point the camera at an obvious point like a doorknob, then stand in front or next to it.

I never use a tripod, I can balance my little Canon on books, cars, trees, rocks, etc. But the downside is the camera can wobble and fall. Which happened to me. Now mine is partially broken, I can only see the image through the viewfinder. But the video playback (if that's the right term) still works.

Great advice CL! I tried a broken tripod (I guess you'd call it a bipod) but the book balancing seems to work - it's just hard getting enough distance, but I'm working on it. Seems that a little bit of suffering for art is inevitable - glad that your camera is still functional!
