UWP or UWN
I was reading the definition of UWP and for me the word Princess did not sit right. I love the word Urban and Warrior but the Princess reminded me of something delicate and breakable.

So ray started this great thread linen/leather paratrooper. I kind of hijacked her thread. So I decided to start this one. Discussing the UWP, again I love the Defining terms and meaning. No offense to anyone but, I am a big girl and I need a substantial word.

So, rabbit suggest some great names Urban Warrior Bard was really great but to rough to me I said maybe Urban Warrior Queen. But, even that was not quite it for someone said that was to Stately. I thought about Urban Warrior Knight but, that was to Masculine to me. So I pondered this for a long time maybe (5 minutes or more)

And then the clouds parted and the Birds started to sing (in my head) Boom there it was. Urban Warrior Night. Night because I belong to the Dark Side (Star Wars) I know we have word play, genius, androgyny all wrapped up in one word and one woman Ladywone thats right me :). How could you be such a genius ladywone your asking your self. Well, because I am no ordinary everyday genius.

I know what you are saying to yourself. Self, Ladywone, she is a Mensa genius now somebody just needs to tell Mensa what they are missing out on. And self make a note to self to stop talking to self and find a friend to talk to. lol

So just a recap:
Urban Warrior Princess ( Too Girly for Ladywone)
Urban Warrior Night (Just Right for Ladywone)
Note stop talking to self (find a friend)

And so the lines of battle lines have been drawn. Who will survive or maybe we can all live in harmony in Urban Warrior Land.

Your thought process is a thing of beauty and a joy forever

I can see how Urban Warrior Night fits, and dang if it couldn't maybe fit me too with the magnetic draw of black clothing when I'm exploring that part of the psyche...

When we did the five words that are your style descriptors, I came up with 'Graceful Charming Rogue' as three of mine. I'll have to see how that translates into clothing. I'm guessing it might be a little Rough Around the Edges from sleeping under trees next to bonfires as I travel from hamlet to hamlet telling tall tales for my supper.

ETA: that coat is great for any visits to Hoth or other ice planets.

I like it and this is the beauty of creating our own acronyms. No one HAS to be a UWP or a Business Bombshell...

Although I think Urban Night Warrior has a better ring to it... just a suggestion!

I have a strong love of androgyny and that is the Warrior side for me. Sometimes I prefer what I think of as the Insolent Tomboy look too.

Your post has me grinning from ear to ear! I am very glad that you found a moniker that rings true for you (the fact that Star Wars is involved is total icing on the cake... having great style imaginings for a Darth Bane type runway collection).

For me, the "princess" descriptor refers to my love of girly, delicate, shiny, pretty things. Dainty chains, dry-clean-only silks, high heels, whimsical prints, and lipsticks that come in a cat-shaped tube. So yes, I can see how it isn't for everyone! And I do believe Una interprets the "P" in yet another way for herself. And Ceit is an Urban Warrior Prince.

Also: Rabbit, dig the bard traveling hamlet to hamlet!

That's how I came, btw, to be Quirky Waif. Princess didn't really work for me. As a matter of fact, neither did Warrior. As I said back when - I'm really more likely to ping 'em in the noggin' with my slingshot than a laser sword and to spend my off-time weaving sodacan tabs than working on my biceps... Hahaha!

On a side note: UNW makes me think of Brienne of Tarth. And rabbit, Graceful Charming Rogue... I can totally see that. I'm thinking Robinhood over Hook, tho, maybe I'm wrong...

p.s. Caro, I can totally totally see you in ink blue being all statuesque and then whipping out the ninja moves. Lol.

What fun thread. It reminds me of when my siblings and I would take on the speech patterns, etc from whatever we were reading last...(Redwall, Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, G.A. Henty, Georgette Heyer, Dorothy Sayers, P.G.Wodehouse, Jane Austen, Laura Ingalls Wilder...) Congrats on finding the right words for you, Ladywone.

abc, As all Urban Warriors know specifically I, as an Urban Night Warrior. We can venture into the land known as talks to ones self. As we travel the late night t.v. airwaves in search of that mystical thing we call sleep.

rachylou, When the Zombie Apocalypse comes we must have alternate sources of transportation come forth.

columbine, When I was a child my mother taught Library Science and History. And we read The Lion the Witch, and the Wadrobe. The Hobbitt, Oh the places you will go, The orginal Star Wars books. We would then write our own stories and do book reports each summer. My mother would give us a list to read and report on. It sounds bad but the books she listed were amazing.

cciele, My momma is the best. As childern she made learning exciting. I, as a child was able to read and had the ABC's memorized and learned how to spell my name and new my home address before I entered per-school. Reading and making up stories brought our family closer as childern growing up.
