I finally, FINALLY, feel like I have updated and sorted out my denim collection . It's been SUCH a long time coming, and I admit it took me way too long to feel comfortable in the newer silhouettes (wide legs, higher rises etc), but that's another post This is new pair that isn't really trendy, but is from a company I'm really liking right now - Liverpool - and is the perfect replacement for my old and tired skinnies. These are super sleek, dressy , polished and comfortable, and I really love the slit at the front hem. Perfect for showing off boots and shoes These new boots - NAS picks and Janet was first on them which spurred me on - are fantastic too. They are SO comfortable and I feel, again, polished and on-trend in them. They also work with just about every pant I own , which is great. And then my solution to the whole knitwear issue: this inexpensive H&M sweater , which I bought 3 of in different colours and one crazy rust/black animal pattern. H&M is doing the right things in the fashion industry right now (in terms of sustainability, clean production techniques etc) and these sweaters fit well, are comfortable, not itchy, drape nicely and are cozy. And , because they are inexpensive, I can indulge in some colour trends, and not worry about their lifespan. I realize that is contradictory to the *buy less and buy better* I am trying to adhere to, but I haven't found knitwear that I can trust to that mantra. And at least I'm not wasting money, which seems to be my favourite thing to do. Ergh.
I'm right into the layered , "collegiate" jewellery look , and enjoyed wearing an old , double wrap leather /gold Kors bracelet too. New faux leather metallic bronze tote (has a matching cross body bag) from some unknown maker bought from a fav local boutique.
Comments, musings , jokes, etc always welcome !
(oh, and yes, that's a stuffed animal foot on the floor in one photo - this is clearly not my bedroom !)
jeans - Liverpool - could not find a stock photo anywhere, but they are dark, stretch denim with gold topstitching in the Abbie fit.
sweater - H&M
earrings and necklaces - Jenny Bird
lipstick - Lise Watier (Canadian luxury beauty brand - yay!)
fragrance - test-driving a new version of Chanel Gabrielle and really like it
