How did I miss this?? I loved them when you posted them before and I love them on you! I don't see western, just modern and sleek with a bit of edge.

Hi Mo --

I see what you mean, but I like them in general and like them for you. [I'd probably chicken out over the two tone element but that's what makes them seem very you (IMO).]

To test the comfort factor without worrying about scuffing the soles, you can pull big tube socks over them. Looks ridiculous but works!

I'm with Una - I like them but they're ok, not great to me. I think I need to see them styled to make a decision. On the other hand, I LOVE your berry sandals and silver flats.

I had the same exact problem with a pair of booties I found in Sept. They looked like cowboy boots and I just couldn't do it. I think it was November when I found them again and bought them on the spot. For me, the answer was not to wear them with those particular jeans I had on. They are my favorite shoes now, and I especially love them with tight-ankles pants line leggings and skinnies, and skirts/dresses! No boot cuts or straights. Just too cowboy-like. ETA: and dark bottoms only. The lighter the denim wash, the more cowboy feeling I get.

Sooooooo gorgeous - I have a serious case of the "wants" with these.

Mo these are seriously elegant, gorgeous, chic and graceful. I love, love, love them and no cowboy in sight. But you have to love them. I also think they would be awesome with skirts and dresses since they are so pretty. But on this, do what's in your heart. It makes no difference if all of us adore them but you are unhappy.

Ha! The point is moot. I put both on with thin socks, and they are not comfortable The idea is to have an option I can do 3 miles in without a care. These are not that. Too snug in the toe and just not cushy overall. Saved me from hemming and hawing I suppose.

EDIT: the Circus Holt's felt too snug on the toes, as well. perhaps my feet and pointy boots don't get along ergonomically

At any rate, here is with wine cords (lightened a little to see better). I actually quite like the toe with this outfit, hunh. I could try and break them in, and stretch the toe box a bit. But should I have to for that price?

Ooo, they look great with the cords. But I'm really wary of the toe issue. Even stretched, they potentially may not be comfortable, particularly for a lot of walking. Too pricey a risk, from my POV

Walk around the house in them for a while. Things could improve.

If they don't - return them. And I will start my sobbing fest.

I put socks around them, like Vix so wisely suggested, and walked around all morning, trying to ease the leather by rubbing and everything. No go. I put on my other boots for comparison and there is no doubt these are tighter than any pair I own. Back they go. Sorry for the tears, Angie But maybe a client with a narrow toe box would do great in them.
I did find out that arch support and toe room is more vital than heel height for me, comfort wise. I can easily walk for hours in 2 1/2" - 3" if the fit is there. 3" - 3 1/2" are the max for me. My Frye's are close to 3 1/2" and I wore them for the plane trip out here carrying the kitty cat and my carry on bag, both. I would have DIED in the Grey City's shouldering that extra weight and all that airport walking. So, that's that!

Aw, that's a bummer! I do think they would have looked stellar with the outfits you posted. Can you try a half size up? Or maybe there's just a better one out there for you.

Janet, I feel they are just not the right shape for my foot. I had a bit of heel slippage already.
You know what? I almost tried these http://www.dsw.com/shoe/ellen+.....Ref=SEARCH when I placed the order for the Grey City's. I was scared away by the 3" heel. But now, not so much, after comparing my 2 3/4" Sportos to the Grey Citys for comfort. Still debating . . .

Ack, I am sobbing, too!

I like the Ellen Tracy booties, too though. My Reports have a 3" heel and rock for comfort.

There should be some kind of icon to award posters for making Angie cry. Ha ha. (I'm just kidding, Mo!)

That was a good observation you made about heel height, that if the fit is good, the heel height doesn't matter as much. I'll have to keep that in mind when shoe shopping...I hadn't thought of it.

Oh bummer. I was going to say I LOVE them.
