unsure - booties

Grey City Walkers came today. I think maybe I have trouble with a pointy toe? I see cowboy or mod in my head. I love all the design details otherwise. Am going to run these by the BF when he gets home and see what he thinks. What do you all think?

Well I like them, but they don't seem quite your style. I see more mod than cowboy. Also, you don't have too many dark shoes do you?

I love them. They do have a little bit of a cowboy vibe which I wouldn't say is a bad thing unless it's a look you want to stay away from. They remind me of the SE Circus booties that I have with the white back. I've found them very versatile and have worn them a lot this winter.

Mo, I thought I was over black shoes too but I've been wearing the heck out of the black booties I bought. Maybe because they go well with both the navy moto and the Spiegel black moto I got for this winter. These don't look cowboy to me but they are sort of modern. Are they really comfortable?

I'm scared to wear them around the house, as we have no carpet and I don't want UO to think they were worn outside So I can't say about comfort yet really. Seem a bit tight in the toe maybe.
I have no issue with having a black shoe - I want a black shoe. I want one that works for lots of walking with my skinny jeans. My current black Sportos are 2 3/4" heels and about 6 or 7" shaft - not ideal.

I see a touch of mod here… but not too OTT. I think they look quite sharp and sleek. I like the unique design elements. How do they "feel"? Ooops -- just saw your note re: slightly tight toe box… that is always a problem for me with pointy footwear. Might they stretch?

I like them a lot for *right now.* If you are looking for something with more longevity, I'd go for a simple classic pair with roundish or almond toe. So it depends on what your desires and needs are wonderful Mo!

Denise, that's what I already have on my Sportos lol. Maybe that's why I'm struggling with the point. I do love my other pointy shoes, the berry suede slingbacks, so why is it hard for me to accept points in booties?? So weird. OH, yeah, and the new silver flats are pointy and I love them. What gives?

They do remind me of the SE Circus Holt's - that's the first thing I thought of when I clicked on the pic. But I like the Holt's - I'm still deciding whether to K/R the ones I have in beige. I also thought "cowboy" but again, I like cowboy. I guess I'm not much help, am I?

I find that pointy toed boots always make my foot look really mutant long, whereas pointy toed shoes do not. Go figure.

I wear shoes around the house all the time while deciding, and we have all hardwood and ceramic tile floors. I've never had any company give me a hassle when returning.

OMG. I ADORE them. ADORE!! I want to order them for myself! And I don't need any black booties.

But here's the thing. My style is not your style. So if I adore them, no wonder you are hesitating, right?

OTOH, to my eye, these fit the place where my style and your style overlap. If you know what I mean. I see them as incredibly versatile.

When I read "pointy toe" in your text, I was prepared to vote for returning since I have never warmed up to pointy-toed anything. But these are sort of a cross between pointy and almond. Nice.

I love them. But of course, I'm Queen Pointy Toe so I love most things with pointyness of the toe. I have complete weakness for them. Seeing these on you makes me really really want a pair myself. Except that I already have three pairs of black, no, make that four pairs of black ankle boots. And I find no shame in that. Hmmmm. Five is a nice, round number.....

With the close-up pics, I thought they had more of a Western flavor, but when you zoomed out, they seemed less so. I think that styling them will be the way to go. I was recently having problems determining whether to keep a pair of booties, and it wasn't until I tried styling them with various types of pants and skirts that I was able to clearly say that they wouldn't work. Then I had peace about returning them.

I might cry too if you return them Mo. I like them for your style. Lovely toe shape and while there is a hint of mod (pointy toe) a cowboy (snake skin) both are subtle and add up to a very modern and cool looking bootie.

Well I will differ (I'm in the middle of red eye travel and feeling crotchety)... I like them but I don't love them. I am getting over my pointy toe poison eye but I actually don't think these are extreme enough somehow. They look like a hybrid of two or more styles, rather than a single style. Maybe that is what you are feeling too, Mo, given that we share some style issues?

I love these too. And if I had the room in my budget I would be SO tempted to jump. I agree with Rae's assessment -- teeny bit mod and teeny bit western, but definitely in the rock-and-roll territory. Just fab. And fab on you.

First, I am going to warm up. Then I am going to try them with the 4 outfits off the top of my head I wanted a black bootie to complete. (see pics) Then I may experiment further. I don't have many of my pants here with me, but I think I have enough to decide.
