TX YLF Meet-Up

Had a FAB time today with Ana, Ironkurtin, DebbieK, Donna, Isis, and Sarah (Patience we missed you!!). Unfortunately, Ironkurtin only enjoyed lunch with us. Fortunately, Sarah joined us right before IK had to leave.

It was a WARM sunny day with a nice strong breeze to cool us off as we walked along the outdoor mall. I think Ana, DebbieK, and Isis found things to buy.

1) Lunch and good conversation.
2-3) Introduced IK to the standard shoe and bag pics! LOL!
4) FABers
5) The pic doesn't do it justice...pretty paper butterfly display above the escalators at Neiman Marcus.

AJ, thanks for sharing! It sounds like a lovely day and I'm so glad that all of you were able to get together. You make a stunning group. It's fun to see familiar pieces (not to mention faces!) Also, I love your new skirt.

The paper butterfly display looks incredible! I can only imagine how it must have looked like in motion, as it looks like it was made of pretty light paper - did they flutter?

So what did you guys score? I purchased some lovely crickets for my daughter's tarantulas - surely you all did better than that?!

I had such a good time! Great conversation about all sorts of topics! And so fun to see people in real life and put voices with faces. We had lunch and then shopped, a 6 hr epic experience!

The passerby who took our picture commented that we were a colorful bunch!

It was especially fun to get instant feedback when trying on stuff; I think we all tried on something, but we all remained picky. All in all, such a very fun day!

How could we top crickets, IK??? I thought your tarantula died; did you get more???

I bought a linen skirt and a sour-yellow-green top at the Loft....Debbie bought some clamdiggers also at the Loft....and Ana got a skirt, shorts, and ??? something else that escapes me??? at Madewell.....

Various items from your goodie-bag went home in different ways. Alas, I discovered that the white buttondown was too small when I got home.....

Isis, my daughter has three tarantulas. The nice pet shop man threw in an extra one when we went to replace dearly departed Sally. (Gee thanks.). Their names are Blondie, Cowgirl, and Pearl. She also has a baby scorpion and a Madagascar hissing cockroach, Although the roach doesn't eat crickets.

I had a great time. Fell in love with the clam diggers I bought. Lunch was delicious!

IK I brought home the Joe jeans from your goody bag. They are going to be a great addition!

I could deal with pet tarantulas; I could deal with pet scorpions....

I draw the line at pet cockroaches. Especially a hissing one.

I hesitate to ask what it eats.

@Kari - It was fun to meet Isis and Ironkurtin for the first time. The paper butterflies were so cool! They didn't flutter, but the light coming down from the skylight reflected off the sparkly decorations on each string of butterflies.

@Kiwichik, Jem, fern, Jonesy, Deborah, and kellygirl - Thanks! We were discussing how it's a bit of pressure to come up with an outfit worthy of the forum yet still be comfortable and easy to change out of in the dressing rooms.

@Velvetychocolate - Ha, my meal is out of frame, but I had a big burger and wedge fries!

@ironkurtin - I really TRIED to buy SOMETHING, but nothing was ringing my bells. I did go back after I said my goodbyes and pick a little knick knack at Anthropologie for my dresser to hold my go-to earrings. (Thanks for the idea, Donna!)

Don't mess with Texas cause those ladies look fab! Sorry, couldn't help myself.
You all really do look happy and incredible. So fine seeing all the shoes - I was trying to guess who was who there.

@christieanne - Did you guess correctly? It was so cute to see IK's confusion when I said, "shoe shot, " and we all automatically got in a circle with one foot out! Then we started to pile our purses and IK plopped her backpack in, LOL!

AJ, thanks for posting the pictures and report. I LOVE LOVE LOVE reading about YLF gatherings. I always play a little footwear guessing game and I correctly guessed yours, Sarah's and IronK's footwear. I have to work a little harder at getting to know the other's footwear styles. Or maybe they need to post more WIWs (hint hint ladies).
