Here are my outfits from yesterday and today. Both days were of the type where nothing is quite right: the weather was difficult and overcast, I wasn't feeling quite well, there was tons of work and related stress, a dreaded dentist appointment and 2 h spent running around the mall chasing a replacement watch band for my Michael Kors watch. Apparently white leather bands in the right size are impossible to come by, as nobody has them!

On this type of days, my go-to formula is skinnies, tunic and comfortable shoes. In the summer that means a thin woven tunic and shoes with a little wedge, in the winter I wear sweater tunics and tall flat boots (with skinnies tucked in). The interesting observation is that these outfits can have two very different vibes: they are either very neutral and boring (like #1) where I basically want to blend with the wall and be left alone, or happy and cheerful with colors and patterns (like #2) where I use that to cheer myself up. I don't really know how I choose, I guess it depends on my emotions at the moment.

I would be curious to know what you think of proportions in #3, that is of relative lengths of the jacket and tunic. Do they go well together? Oh, and I realized that all the items in both outfits are 3-5 years old.

#1: silver-grey tunic - Arden B, black pinstriped skinnies - Rich&Skinny, pewter wedges - Me Too

#2/3: turquoise tunic - NY&Co, cream skinnies - 7FAMK, striped blazer - Club Monaco, yellow/cream mini wedges - Cole Haan.
