I got an inspiration to be a reindeer for Halloween, and I knew it would just be antlers, perhaps a rosy nose (full red nose too dorky), and a bunch of festive Christmas clothes.
Saw this box pleat skirt at Lands end--has shorts underneath, so you could practically hike in it! Wanted to pair with my new red chevron blazer--that did not look good. Second pick would be purchasing an ugly Christmas sweater--they are around, but just not the right splurge right now.
Finally settled on a smart, simple black mock turtleneck, topped with the red vest for walking outside. I really wish I had a photo with just the turtleneck, which gave off a very Audrey Horne (Twin Peaks) vibe. The box pleats, if the waist is at the right place, cascade around your hips very ornamentally. Added in black low pumps, and dusty rose frilly socks--to enhance the Audrey vibe more.
I'm not sure people really knew what I was, but I did feel like it was a good outfit.
