I got this tweedy looking jacket for Christmas from DD and have been having trouble styling it. I'm a bit pearish and the length of this jacket is most unflattering on me but I want to wear it because it's a gift. I like #1 and #3 best because of the columns of color and I think #2 and #4 really emphasize my hips. Suggestions and comments are welcome as I really appreciate your help.

Skinny jeans: TB
White top: Anthro
Black tee: Gap
Gray tee: ? boutique while on vac.
Loafers: Raffini
Wedges: Uggs
Jacket: BCBG Maxazria

That's interesting. I like #2 the best and don't think it emphasizes your hips--maybe because it's busy on top.

I have yet to see anything remotely unflattering on you! This looks fantastic and is exactly the style I'd be looking for in a tweedy jacket. I'm not sure of the necklines in 2 but the others look great. You could also do a t-neck if you wear them, or a tee with a more open neckline.

My favourite is #1 here.
You are spot on about creating a column of colour.
A tunic length top underneath would do the trick too.

I really like 1,2,4. What hip issue? I'm guessing only to you, but we are our own worst critics.

I like all of these… but especially #1 (sophisticated tonal) and #2 (fun juxtaposition of tough and ladylike). Your hips look fine and I do not think you need to worry that they are overly emphasized by any of these outfits.

I also especially love 1 and 2. For me - and this is personal - a tweedy little jacket is best offset by a clean and/or tough line. The collared blouse feels too feminine and too big for the jacket. Just my take based on my aesthetic which I know may not be particularly helpful.

I would never guess you have a hip thing going on. You always look beautifully proportional and your style is so flattering.

Love 1 and 2. I think the jacket is very flattering on you and I see no issue with the hip area at all. To my eye the white shirt doesn't quite work, but I would be interested to see the the jacket worn over the white shirt with the collar of the shirt done up and a really dark bottom:)

Angie: Thank you! and I will try different shoes. I haven't bought spring shoes yet but have seen a couple of pairs I want to try.
Viva: I think #2 does have a less traditional look that I like, too.
Deborah: You're right - the white blouse is not right for the jacket. I'll try your idea of a really dark pair of pants with a buttoned up white shirt - it sounds cute.
El Cee: I like the terms you used to describe #1 and #2.

I like 1 and 2. 1 is perhaps most flattering but 2 is fun with the graphic tee and therefore my favourite!

#1 and #2 hands down. So modern and stylish. I see no hip problems.

Dare I say that #3 and #4 are a bit aging. Which is such an eye opener for me because those outfits would have been my first inclination on styling the jacket.
