Turquoise, pale neutrals, denim top, tie-dye

Here's some photos from last week. My kids have only one more week of school but I'm still super busy. Hopefully my schedule calms down soon. We're hosting an end-of-season BBQ for my son's soccer team at our house this weekend that has me stressing out. We're going to have burgers and brats and guests will bring sides but it's still stressful. The house needs to be cleaned and the yard fixed up (it's still partially winterized). I don't consider myself a good host so I always find these things stressful (my husband is more social than me so likes to host parties). I feel like I get involved talking and forget to take care of people.

#1/2 - New-to-me top with beaded neckline.
#3 - Pale neutrals with leopard print
#4 - Floral skirt and denim top.
#5 - Tie dye pattern with jeans and sneakers.

Very nice! It's hard to choose a favorite, but I'm really drawn to the denim/floral combo. And I love the coordinating kitty in pic 5.

I like how the leopard shoes bookend your hair.

The pale outfit would look even greater with a little more contrast. I suggest a necklace/pendant in one or more of the brown tones of your shoes and hair.

Though I am not a big fan of "nude" pumps, I must say you look gorgeous in yours! And these shoes, too, are kind of bookending your hair.

You look fab in your denim shirt. I like the skirt, too.

Another combo I imagine you would look great in: the white jeans + a light brown tank + the denim shirt worn open, as a jacket + either the leopard shoes or the nude pumps or a light brown sandal.

Great week. Looooove #3! Fabulous proportions, soft colors, and just a little print in the pumps. Also really like #4, what a great skirt and fun paired with the denim shirt. And too cute that you match Domino in #5 ^^

Great outfits all around - I love #3 and the fun tie dye in #5 is also great.

As far as the party, just tell everyone upon arrival "Please help yourself to drinks and food and let me know if you have trouble finding anything." That simple thing can go such a long way as a hostess. I've been to too many parties where the hosts don't offer that up front and you end up feeling awkward when you don't know where the glasses or drinks are located.

I totally get what you mean about getting stressed by hosting - but my problem is that I get fixated on the food and drinks and picking up after people, and forget to socialize!

Despite the stress, your outfits are looking terrific! Is it horrible to admit that when I read brats I was not thinking of what you are feeding the guests but the guests themselves ?

I often feel the same though when we host guests, but afterwards I usually wonder why I focused so much on getting the house ready when the guests are so accepting and really just want me to make them feel welcome.

Oh gosh, I love them all! hard to pick a fave but I think I'll go with the all pale one with the animal print shoes.

JuniperGreen - Apparently we need to host a party together and you can take care of the food and drink and I'll do the socializing part.

Ha Shevia! I'm sure there will be a few brats of the kid variety there. All in all though, the kids on the soccer team are a good group.

You all are right - I'm sure people will just be happy that someone else is hosting. Also, I need to remember that when I go to other people's house, I don't pay that much attention to the details, so I'm sure other people don't either.

Hi, good luck with the party! When I host I have to do the same, try hard to look after people or else I just talk and the food doesn't come out at the right time. I am surprised no-one has admired pics 1-2. ( ETA, re-reading some have). I give them one of Angie's Killer! Especially how the beaded top, pants and shoes are styled together. Have you noticed though, it annoys me in the two tops I have like it, how they have only put the turquoise on the front? So it looks just plain black from the back with the black pants. Does that bother you? It does me and I have started to avoid such tops.

Re soccer bbq: I'm sure everyone is so grateful that you offered to host it that nothng else matters. I remember going to one that was so windy my burger blew away. Not kidding.

I hope the gathering at your home went well. I really like those cropped flares on you in #3 and that skirt with the chambray top in #4 is a close second favorite outfit of mine from this group.

Thanks everyone for your advice! The BBQ went well. The weather was nicer than expected - not windy and in the mid-70's. It was perfect BBQ weather. I thought it was too cold for the pool but the boys disagreed and spent a good portion of the evening swimming.

I love your tie dye top outfit and the floral outfit of course (tie dye, ombre and floral are my obsessions). And the blue top in no 1 is a great colour for you. You should seek it out.
