Tucking the BR Bow Tie Shirt, Version 2

Yesterday I posted this BR shirt with a cream colored skirt, but then I decided I wasn't all that happy with the high contrast between the cream skirt and the blue & gray shirt. Usually what I wear to church on Sunday is what I wear to work on Monday, but today I switched the cream skirt for one in a shade of dark green. Blue and green is one of my favorite color combinations, and I was happy with the result.

I saw your other post and I like this combination better. I tend to prefer low contrast too. The blue/green combination is very rich. I hear you on the tucking thing too. I am also anti tuck but the times they are a-changing and I think the full tuck is looking fresh and modern again. You look chic.
And your dogs are sooooo cute.

Brooklyn, in general I prefer lower contrast, but I think I'm OK with higher contrast when the darker color is on the bottom, not the top. Or when it's a bright color on top.

Runcarla, yay for Angie's recommendations! I've never been sorry purchasing something she recommended.

Kellygirl and zolechic, Cosmo and Callie both don't like wearing clothes, but Callie didn't mind her costume this year

VERY cute dog costumes! We didn't dress up our two dogs last night, although we have in the past. One of them barked at everyone nonstop, while the other one wanted to meet everyone! It was challenging.

Lindsay, I really like that blouse a lot too. The fabric is very nice and not too stiff at all.

Donna and Mirjana, I had the other outfit in my mind for a while, and it's interesting how outfits sometimes work out better in our mind than IRL. I liked the other outfit, but once I saw the pictures (this is a reason why I like taking WIWs) I knew that I would prefer the skirt paired with a lighter top and the top paired with a lighter skirt.

JAileen and El Cee, the dogs are challenging at Halloween. Cosmo wants to bark at everyone. We know most everyone from our walks, so usually the kids just come up to the door and say, "Cosmo why are you barking at us!" and he stops.

this looks especially great on you! I know you've been averse to tucking in the past, but I think it totally works on you. I thought the higher contrast one also was great but I can see why you are more comfortable with this combo. Also I think the combo of the navy and green is more sophisticated, somehow

You look smashing, Karie! I have that bow blouse in white, and I must ask -- how ARE you getting the bow to behave so beautifully? Mine comes out with one half all pointy and long and the other half short and chubby. I pull and adjust and fuss with it, and then I give up and unbutton it from the back of the blouse and leave it in the closet.

Any secrets you can pass along?

YLFers, if you (as I do) hate button-front shirts because they gap in front no matter how many times you size up, the most fun thing about a bow like this is that it hides that infernal button gap. But not, of course, if you give up and leave the bow in your closet.

crazy one, I have been averse to tucking, and still am - my belly is my trouble spot - it'll never be flat, but has been helped by limiting/eliminating gluten and foods high on the FODMAP list that I seem to be sensitive to.

April, I had that same problem at first with the bow. I tie it like a shoe lace, and make the first bow pretty small, pull the second bow through and then adjust both bows and ends to be close to equal size. I think the smaller the knot is in the middle, the more equal the bows and ends will be. Here's a good guide:
