Following up with a few try ons for an anniversary weekend of my parents.

I didn’t buy anything, but must admit I’m a bit intrigued by the jumpsuit.

If I went with the jumpsuit, I’d have to figure out what to wear underneath. Maybe some sort of cami? The underarm is quite a large opening that shows my bra.

Nadya - yes, the last dress is the BR one. DH had an immediate dislike of it, but I tried it back on this morning and didn’t want to return it just yet.

I like the BR dress better than the dress in 1/2 but the jump suit is gorgeous if you can get it to work for you. Will your parents want to see you in a dress? Some are picky that way.

Joy - i also like the BR dress better than the 1/2 dress. I think in part due to the v neck. I was thinking of getting the jumpsuit and then doing a try on session for my mom to see what she thinks. There’s also one other store I’m going to try to get to later this week that may have some options. I really don’t want to do a bunch of online buying and returning.

I do think the jumpsuit could dress up well with accessories. It’s velvet, which I was very drawn to in the store today. I’m honestly thinking either choice will get little other wear. My holidays are very casual, but I’m willing to get something nice for this event.

I also thought the little black dress is a good option. It might be able to be worn again. You could dress it up with a velvet or lace little jacket or dress it down with a puffer vest or knit hoodie.

Joy - I know it doesn’t look it, but the dress is blue. I’m actually steering away from black (except for bottoms and shoes) when I can.

Rachylou - I can’t believe the jumpsuit wasn’t too short on me through the torso. It was super long as well. I’m not wearing heels these days, so I’d need to assess the length.

Jumpsuit! What does DH think? Mr Style Fan loves jumpsuits. I notice the back of the jumpsuit is open (sort of). How does that work with your bra? I love the colour.

I like the jumpsuit, too. But LBD looks very good as well. In fact, the jumpsuit could look a little cheap in real life (you be the judge of that, as it is hard to see from the photos), the LBD looks super.

You are so young and beautiful, and have plenty of time to wear darks! I would vote dress in nr 1-2 as is such a lovely color, playfull and cheery, like you have to be at your parents anniversary! (I would be cheered up to see my DD20 in that color, rather than all the -otherwise great- things like the teal velvet jumpsuit (playfull, too, but afraid will show up black in photos?), the LBD or even the BR dress you already have (and which is also fab but more grown up and formal). And what about the burgundy velvet dress in the background?:-)

SF - I’m not sure what DH thinks of jumpsuits. The back and loose sleeve would need a solution to gaps, since my bra was very visible under the sleeve.

Bella - I take your point about making sure it looks luxe enough.

Lyn67 - I love the color in the first dress, which is what drew me to pick it up. Sometimes with a crew neckline it makes me look more top heavy than I’d like. The dress in the background was a bit snug.

Angie - do you have any advise for what bra or cami to wear under? I don’t mind the slivers of skin in back, but the arms are loose and I’m not a fan of showing my bra through the large armholes.

re the jumpsuit (which is great on you) I usually try to find a bra in the same color as the top if I'm worried about it showing - not sure if that's an option for you (I wear a small cup size so I can go with bralettes). Or of course a streamlined bra with a decent covering matching color cami under it.

ETA: Find - wondering if something like this might work under the jumpsuit

I think all three look good on you. The jumpsuit is the most fun and modern. I also like the blue dress with the mesh shoulders. The pink one is a fun color and very flattering.

You look great in all of them. The jumpsuit is the most interesting and surprising, though, so I would go with that one. I agree that a cami underneath would be a good solution. Depending on your accessories, maybe it could tie in with them.

Jumpsuit is fab, but do make sure it's easy on and off for the bathroom. I know this as a seasoned wearer of jumpsuits.

Thanks all. I do think the jumpsuit reads s bit dressier IRL than in the pics.

Texstyle - I like the option of a matching bra.

LBD & Approprio - truth be told, I can get out of it myself, but can’t get the hooks done up myself. I’ll just need to use the buddy system to go to the bathroom or practice.
