Trouve leather jacket in small

Here's the jacket in a size down. It's totally comfortable in the shoulders and arms so I think this size works. This isn't exactly the right top underneath but it's close to what I'd try.

I'm definitely feeling that I'm going in some sort of rocker chick direction lately - stark, leather, tough - less princess in the UWP.

Sorry about the lack of shoes. I'm thinking edgy booties.

Well this is interesting - I wasn't totally convinced in the other size but something about this one "sits" better. It looks fab on you Una - truly.

And whatever you're doing to lose a size, could you fill me in on it???

I did not comment on your other post, but I like this size of the jacket much better! The larger one looked like the lapels were overwhelming you, and they are much more proportional here. I like!

I have noticed that you seem to be moving away from the UWP look (or at least the P part...) a bit lately too.

I am still a bit iffy about the folds...but I have a feeling they look better in person than in the pics. And I am so glad your sleuthing on my behalf resulted in a gorgeous purchase for yourself! Plus, what a story...it could have been "the one that got away" but instead it's going to be the great deal that almost didn't happen.

Well, if I'm keeping TWO leather jackets then I am DONE shopping for the year. However, both of these could be fantastic additions to the closet, and a lot of unworn summer wear (girly skirts) is about to exit and be consigned. It's gotta be perfect, though!

Sizing down made a big difference in the length and torso/flappiness factor somehow, but surprisingly not in the shoulders.

Shannon, I have NO idea. None. I AM running a lot, but I don't see or feel any of a difference on the scale. The only thing I can think is that muscle is replacing flab in the thighs, because that's where things are feeling loose.

Whoa. I love it, I adore it, I want to drive to Alaska and raid your closet! Lucky for you I wouldn't fit any of it! This one fits so much better. The effect I could tell the jacket was meant to create comes to fruition here. The color is just wonderful.

I think this and the Theory jacket are worth a few months of SYCing for.

Interesting what a difference one size makes and how this looks so much more proportional. I now have this on my wish list in case it ever goes on sale, along with that orange perforated leather moto since I've found my orange polished cotton jacket goes with EVERYTHING. Who'da guessed? Your Dansko Ryders are on another wish list. . .

I love, love it and wow, the smaller size looks amazing. The jacket is a show stopper.

I hate to bring this up but do you actually have the pieces to support it? I'm just having problems visualizing entire outfits with it, from what I recall you own. You could build a little capsule around it anyhow.

Right of the bat, I love navy blue and cognac or taupe, so a killer pair of booties in either color would be awesome. For underlayers, I think any color works, navy is like a neutral to me. For bottoms, dark wash jeans, perhaps bootcuts or skinnies to make it a column of color could be cool.

Generally speaking, I also love navy with black, red, cream or yellow. You can do a navy on navy with a patterned or striped tee underneath. Did you try it with the equipment blouses?

I'm sure the ladies will chime in with a million and one ideas, if you ask. I think the issue is more with getting the proportions right.Your tops are more on the longer side and the BFs are a big part of your style at the moment, the flaps might or might not work with that.

I love it! Looks even more like my favorite jacket in this size - so glad you tried it despite the lapels.

I can see this easily over dresses - maybe your orange one? Or the colorful Ted Baker? The B44? Definitely over any solid dress with sleeves that fit under.

What is interesting is that to me this jacket makes you look pretty darn hourglassy - so much so that I don't really like the high-contrast pants here, even though I usually like that on ITs. I think it'd look great with all low-contrast pieces, a column effect between the top and bottom, or dark bottoms to bookend the jacket. Could easily see with your BF jeans!

Rae, it looks even more hourglassy in the mirror - so odd and counterintuitive. I don't know how to handle or style that! But I am willing to try. Great suggestions. When you have time would you mind posting some of your Bebe jacket outfits, since it's got a similar shape?

A size down obviously made a remarkable difference. I'm glad I tried it, though my budget is crying pitifully. The sleeves are not tight and I think they will stretch as the fabric panel gives a bit so I can layer over long sleeves.

Here are some pics of my jacket. As a fairly balanced hourglass/rectangle, I usually try to make sure to have similar intensities on top and bottom. In #1 that meant adding white to the bottom, in the others, it meant bringing some dark color to the top.

I have a feeling you are going to *rock* that navy jacket!

This looks stunning Una. I am sorry I must have missed the first post. Is this a different leather jacket again from the one you posted (you already have the jacket in non leather)? It's a great shape.
