A few months ago I posed the question, " was it crazy to pack white jeans for an upcoming trip to Milan?". Many of you kindly voiced your opinions, and I seem to recall that those who advised throwing caution to the wind were slightly in the lead.
I packed 5 pairs of pants in my carry on knapsack and wore a pair of loose fitting black skinnies. The black skinnies were my 'travelling pants' and were worn twice, as were a pair of gray 'floral' trousers and gray/black polka dot trousers. But I have to admit I busted out my white jeans at every opportunity. I wore the white flares once, the white bootcuts twice, and the white crops non-stop after we left Milan and spent a few days in the Lake Como area.
I loved wearing white pants, I felt so fresh. However, a few caveats. I would not recommend wearing flares in the city. The hems were pretty filthy after one day of wear. The bootcuts fared much better in that regard, and the crops were brilliant, although I did wear them in a more 'resort' setting.
Milan was surprisingly 'colorful', I did not feel out of place at all sporting my white pants...in fact I was even asked for directions a few times!
1. Duomo - an incredible sight at any time
2. Travelling outfit
3. White flares - only lasted 1 day
4. Bit chilly in the lake district; layers were key to keeping warm
5. Incredible view
6. My favourite outfit - cropped white jeans with grey GAP pullover
7. Relaxing!
8. White pants post trip - ready for the wash
9. Dirty hem on the flares
10. Post wash - boot cuts and crops washed up beautifully, hems on the inside of the flares not perfectly clean - but good enough for me
11. The most amazing gelato!!!!
