The Container Store has lots of styles, including hanging organizers, dop kits, and bags that lie flat and then fold out, many of them made of mesh so you can see what is inside.
If the LLBean bags have outside pockets now, they’ve changed the design. Used to be there was one zip that went 3/4 the way around, and the only other thing on the outside was a zipper to a very flat pocket (actual pocket on inside of bag). One feature I found particularly handy was the mesh pocket inside the bag, in the “lid”. I often used it to pack a wet swimsuit. That way it didn’t get anything else wet but also didn’t have to be in a plastic bag where I always worried it could get moldy (don’t think that ever happened, but what if…) And of course the wet swimsuit usually came off in the shower, where I was using the toiletries I then packed in the bag, so I was much less likely to leave the suit behind.
