Train case makes me nostalgic too, SF. I had one from a wonderful brand called Andiamo that I bought back in the mid-80s. That case was perfect—also adorable—and I absolutely loved it. The interior fittings were very well thought out. My toiletries, meds and makeup were never again so well housed. That case went everywhere—and it was always singled out and investigated by TSA agents anywhere I went, at home, and especially abroad. I never minded, because the agents always ended up marveling over the case’s cunning design. When it was stolen off an Amtrak train 20 years ago, I was beside myself. I tried to replace it, but the company that made it had been sold, and that design was retired. I was never able to find another train case that even came close. Now I use the classic LL Bean hang up bag that Eliza linked to. It gets the job done reasonably well, but not with the panache and charm of my baby case.
