Thanks for the thumbs up, rachylou, Makrame, Zap,Susie, moira, Shu and Caro! I’m excited that the scarf is going over well. It’s a quick knit and would make a unique gift, I think.
@Angie: I’m floored that you like #3! A big thank you!
@kcanshop: Glad the coat passes muster. It is not very exciting but it will serve a purpose and it’s something that I don’t have to worry about--soccer, field hockey, lots of puddles, wet grass, mud. I kind of like that it is plain--I always get such *looks* when I wear my red metallic trench.
@Carole: Thank you. I usually just figure on being cold--last year was the last straw though. I can’t take it anymore. I’m going to be ready when foul weather comes. The scarf is knit although it would be easy to crochet something similar. It’s basically a 12” x 30” rectangle with buttonholes on one end (about an 1.5 from the end.) Mine is 12” wide including the fringe.
@Astrid: Thanks. The coat is pretty toasty. I think it will work in the snow too but it never gets much below 38 around here (and that’s not often.) It’s the least warm of the LE coats. Mine is S regular and fits perfect--perhaps a little roomy in the body and hips though.
@Laura: I saw an oxblood sweater at Nordstrom--TopShop. This is my cheaper version. I just needed a bit of this color.
@chouette22: Thank you. That's such a nice thing to say I found a pattern on Ravelry for mock rib scarf with buttons and just made it wider and added fringe. I will try to post the link. I used US8 and worsted weight--just some acrylic I had in stash. I think three buttons would work better and hold the lower flap in place more securely. 12” (including fringe) by approximately 30”. It’s the dimensions shown on the Anthro website. I cast on 42 stitches.
@Aida: Thanks! Lol about the shoulders. I think it is fine but will take another look at it. I felt too constricted in the medium--this is large.
ETA: Here's the link to the pattern:
