When my sisters and I were kids we loved to sing this Cole Porter song from Kiss Me Kate in the summer:
It's too darn hot,
It's too darn hot.
I'd like to sup with my baby tonight,
Fulfill the cup with my baby tonight.
I'd like to sup with my baby tonight,
Fulfill the cup with my baby tonight,
But I ain't up to my baby tonight,
Cause it's too darn hot.
It's too darn hot,
It's too darn hot.
As these lyrics and the tune drift through my brain today--
Finally I wear this BR cotton knit dress from last year. It wasn't until some of the conversations here that I realized I could wear this linen Tommy Bahama top from 2 years ago. The dress is still a wee bit clingy around the hips, but I'm certainly not worried about that today. I put on the jacket when I go outside into the sun and will have it on later when the a/c kicks in--today is another Spare the Air day, so we've got the thermostat high.
Also the white Munro Lulu slip ons I hope will become more comfortable as I wear them. (Below is the blue denim pair that I also have.}
It's very comfortable and lightweight. I can't stand the thought of a waistband pressing in today. Later on I'll be more used to the heat and get into white jeans.
