1) - OMG, day 3 of the same temperature and the same damn silhouette - jeans, button down (this one is chambray, and mine, not the husband's), over sized cashmere pullover (I swear this is a different one from yesterday, it's heathered and ribbed), and boots. Tomorrow I'm wearing a dress, no matter what.

2) In the meantime, I'm trying to convince myself that a mix of textures makes up for boring myself (and no doubt y'all) half to death with cold weather dressing: chiffon, chambray, cashmere, cloisonne earrings, iolite and pearl choker.

It's still January and I want to set my entire winter wardrobe on fire. Anyone want to join me in a virtual bonfire? We can drink whiskey and dance around the bonfire as we burn our long johns and fantasize about sipping a cold alcoholic beverage served by a hot cabana boy beside a tropical lagoon.

I hear you on the getting sick of winter silhouettes. (Whiskey and bonfires sound good to me. Cheers!) Nonetheless, you look cozy and pulled together in your cashmere and chambray. And, you look very lovely in shades of blue. Your cloisonné earrings are gorgeous. (You have some fun jewelry.)

You exactly captured my feelings about all of my winter clothes right now. Brava to you for soldiering on with creative combos and WIW posts!

The textures do add interest. You look good! And you might be pleasantly surprised when you wear a dress: I'm just as warm in a dress/skirt and tights and boots as I am in jeans (cotton doesn't keep me very warm).

I also find the differences between people hilarious: I have SO much more fun with my winter wardrobe than my summer one. The layering options! Being able to wear fitted clothes without getting soaked in sweat two minutes after stepping outside! Boots! Coats! Cute knitted hats and scarves! Tights! Yes, all of those deserve an exclamation point. (Granted, I'm so far south that the polar vortex only drops our temperatures to high 20s to 40s at its most extreme.) I also just prefer the cold: the tropics are my idea of hellish weather. So I'll hide my clothes from your bonfire.

I love how cozy and cohesive your wardrobe/style is. I can always see what you post working well with your other things. But then, maybe that's why you're bored with it... I definitely have the same problem when I'm wearing either the same thing or variations on a theme for weeks on end. Spring is coming!

I know you're sick of your winter clothes, but I think you're creating looks that work very well for you, including this one.

Angie, the jeans are JCP, a couple years old. JCP has a surprisingly good plus size section for those on a budget (although the sizing is veeeery inconsistant, I have stuff from there in sizes L, XL, 1x, 2x, and 3x).

Anyway, thanks for the commiseration all! I'm guess the truth is that I'm not tired of my wardrobe so much as I'm tired of the unusually cold weather and the fact that I only have FOUR tops warm enough for when it's this cold (the four men's wool sweaters that are too big). I have tons of not so heavy sweaters and stuff that it's simply too cold to wear. Since I'm unemployed, I can't afford to go buy things that I'd love like lovely cashmere sweaters in my size and in colors I'd like. So I'm whinging! WHINGE!!!!

That makes far more sense MG! I'd be very frustrated too re: your tops situation. I have an unholy addiction to wool that results in a pile of wool cardis and pullovers (...and skirts...and jackets...and coats...and hats...lol: you get the idea) that usually barely see any wear down here. So our colder than usual weather has opened up my options rather than limiting them.

You look amazing in blue, so even though I completely sympathize with what you are feeling (and feel exactly the same...this afternoon as I got dressed to take my stepdaughter out I said to my husband..."So many clothes I CAN'T wear!!!!) I actually like this outfit and think you are presenting uncommonly well for a woman who is unemployed and freezing cold!!

I am feeling you with the not having enough bulky sweaters. I keep reaching for my only 2 chunky sweaters over and over because it's just that cold. You look great in the tonal colors. Maybe try some colored lipsticks to add variety until the weather changes. You wear colored lips very well as I recall.
