Ahaha! When you do that, YouTube it! Ahaha!

Well, _I_ love this. But I'm biased, as I have the pants too. I also struggle with them, and tend to wear them for social evening things, I don't think I've ever worn them in oublic during the day. Thanks for the reminder that it's the time if year to get them out again.

Definitely arty, not hippie. I like this floaty jacket with them, but can see how a more structured one would reign the look in, and perhaps be more you.

Oh, and the shoes are amazing. (Walk away from the click...)

Ok, so I clicked.

They ARE on sale, plus an extra 15% off with a Bay card. Limited sizes. Not mine

I can only say Wow, Wow..... Lisap, you look extraordinary I can't stop watching, everything is so perfect. You nailed it fantastic, adorable.

Not hippie at all! This is more arty, edgy. Love your interpretation of black on black! To make the outfit more streamlined, if that's what you want, I'd change to another jacket. But you look terrific as is.

Gorgeous outfit and you remind me of Deborah with her stunning floaty layers. I can see why people looked twice, because you look so great!

I also see this as arty and not hippie. And Joy is right about the hippies being clean.
I like how you have put the harem pants and shoes together. Very fab.

I am the only person in South Dakota who owns/wears these Harem pants LOL. I actually had a Nurse/client at a luncheon ask me what the hell I was wearing!!

Anyway, I like these pants best with a shorter top/jacket like the one you changed into.

You look so wonderful in your photos!!

You look absolutely lovely! What an amazing portrait of you too.

For me, these wonderful harem pants look more like what was worn in the late 80's. They are so cool. You have styled them with taste. Your outfit is both relaxed and refined.

Your daughter's comments sound exactly like my 20 yr old son. He will say things like that anytime I wear something he finds is too much of a departure from the style he is used seeing on me. So could it be that your outfit unsettles your daughter in that way, and that the comment is really about her and how she likes to see you? In any case, you know now exactly what to tell her next time you want to stir her away from something: it would look like what those 1990's grungy aerobic instructors with ugly shags who haven't shaved in 8 months wear - do - buy - choose as BF - (or what other thing it would be you want to discourage her from doing). XD

I like it best in pic 3, but I am a minimalist, so there's that. I just think it looks cool and chic in pic 3. Those pants are fun!

You say this is outside your comfort zone but to me, this is very much "you": sophisticated, chic, polished and definitely what a woman wears (as opposed to more juvenile "fun" styles).

what no birkies? sorry without the birkies IMO,it will never be hippie dippie

I think it's an arty avant garde kind of look and it doesn't say "hippie" to my eye but I have several decades on your DD. Harem pants are out of my own comfort zone but I think it is an attractive outfit on you nonetheless and the "looks" you got might have been complimentary. I know I tend to look at certain people when I like they way they are dressed.

I completely echo what has already been said - arty, stylish, totally cool!

You don't look hippie at all to me! Arty, yes. And gorgeous in it!

I love it! I don't get a hippie vibe at all. I think people her age have pretty narrow definitions of style. You'll enjoy seeing her fashion sense grow over time.

Well, I have seen some hippies wearing harem pants (especially out in the desert a couple of weeks ago), so I *kinda* get where she's coming from, but I must agree with the rest that I don't see a hippie vibe here at all. I'm not a harem pant fan, but I always admire the way you put outfits together, and this is no exception. You look great, and those shoes are awesome!

The shoes really make a huge difference in steering the pants away from looking heavy or un-tailored and you look very elegant. I see nothing to change and I'm wondering if you were feeling a little overly self conscious rather than receiving any negative attention.
I would've looked too because you look interesting and very pretty and I would've been trying to figure out how you made harem pants look so great!

I think it's a great look on you, different structures and materials of black fabness, something different from so many other looks on the streets and in magazines... You look a bit edgy and arty, if I met you somewhere I would definitely think- this woman must be someone interesting, I'd love to meet her. And the necklace is really special.

I love this look and don't see hippie at all .. arty and sophisticated!

The shoes! So great. Also not a fan of harem pants, but gotta say - this is an awesome look and you are rocking it.
I have boys. When I get a fashion comment from them - negative, anyway - I figure it must really be bad!

Omg! You look way too high class for "unwashed hippie". Please, please come to New Mexico (and bring your daughter) and we can hang out in Taos with the unwashed hippies who all smell like patchouli, weed, and BO (and all look like they got dressed in the dark in clothes that are 2 sizes too big).

You would fit right into Tel Aviv. I like #3 best - I have absorbed the lesson that black looks best with more skin. Aging hippie I don't see. My daughters argue about whether I look good or not. But they are only 12.

I love the outfit, so count me among the hippies, for sure. You look ready for any cultural or artistic event. Probably not Woodstock, though.

I love the shoes and honestly, considering I never like harem pants, it's amazing how good I think the outfit as a whole looks on you.

You know why people we looking at you? They were trying to figure out how you created such a sophisticated and fashionable outfit. You were setting the bar you lovely lady.

I love it!! I wear my harems once a week and I never see anyone else in them either... I love how you have styled yours - very sophisticated!

You daughter has clearly never seen an unwashed hippy. You look great.

I'm no style maven but I think this looks slouchy and comfy and cool and you've got the perfect figure to carry it off! I think it looks great and those pants are super cool.

I'm late to this but I'm sure you know what I will say! Love the look like crazy. I wear my harems styled very similar. The layers work, the tonal look keeps it from being over the top and o don't see hippy here, I see modern elegance and effortless style x.
