Well to make a long story short, we recently returned from a truncated trip to NY to see family. We hemmed and hawed about this trip until almost the last minute, because we are keen covid watchers and Delta was already starting to take over here in Israel. But we had not seen our closest relatives since pre-covid, MIL just turned 90 and for other reasons we weren't sure when we would have our next chance. In the end we cancelled the Florida leg of our trip. At least I was still able to see my sister - she flew up to NJ to see us.

(All five of us are fully vaccinated but we were already seeing that Delta can create breakthrough infections. I was less worried about getting very ill, but we would need to take a PCR test to get back on the plane home, and I was very worried that even an asymptomatic infection could prevent us from coming home for an indefinite amount of time.)

Style was on the back burner for me on this trip as I knew I would be picking stuff up there, and my goal was to pack as lightly as possible as well as accommodating our stay with MIL in Brooklyn. She lives in an ultra orthodox neighborhood and wants us to wear skirts while coming and going.
1. Just before the trip my niece was married!
2. Before in the airport.
3. MVP and amazing thrift find: Issey Miyake Pleats Please poncho. Came in handy throughout the trip.
4. Random shot of Greenpoint, Brooklyn to give some sense of the street style.
5. Me looking ridiculous in front of the Delaware River - we spent a few days in a cabin in the Poconos.
6. Looking happy because I get to elbow bump my sister at last.
7. View of Manhattan from the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.
8. On the way home, whew!

Trapped at home as I am, I hope to be ambitious and post some of my trip finds soon. Thanks for looking!
