(An off topic note - I feel absolutely horrible for my sparse participation on the forum, specifically posting and not having had time to respond to comments - though I do read all of them! I am finally settled in, unpacked, and adjusting to the schedule of my new home, so I hope to be around more often starting this week.)
This summer I really embraced more boxy, floaty, waist-surrendering tops in a way that I had not ever considered. However, I'm certainly not planning on giving up fitted dresses any time soon! Below are three that I wore recently to ease into autumn.
I finally discovered a decent indoor spot for some (flash-assisted) lighting for morning photos. Good timing, because the days are rapidly growing shorter, and I leave the house at 6:30 AM.
#1-3: Black and white Tahari faux-wrap dress. I actually tried this dress earlier this summer and haaaated it; but on a whim I picked it up a size larger, and the issues I was concerned about were solved. The larger size gave me the length-wise proportions I needed, like having the waist in the right place and making sure that the skirt wasn't uncomfortably short.
Worn with aqua low-heeled pumps, turquoise and black beaded necklace, peacock blue cross-body structured purse.
#4-5: A variation of an outfit you saw this summer. Orange Bailey 44 tiered midi dress, low leopard pumps, glass millefiori pendant on a chain, cognac leather jacket (the Halogen jacket from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, yay!), mustard handbag
#6-7: A new dress. Royal blue Karen Kane faux-wrap dress that fits like a dream. (And I apologize for the boob-flash, but I assure you it only looks like that due to the flash from the camera!) Worn with my silver knotted pendant on a chain, pumpkin ECCO pumps, and an orange clutch/wallet.
