This might be the most boring vacation post ever. We went to Brooklyn, Passaic, Far Rockaway, Chicago, Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale over the course of three weeks and took hardly any pictures. Our first week in NY was interrupted when two of my three kids got covid. Although they were barely ill, we couldn't return to my 91 year MIL. Panic and quick pivot to my BIL in Far Rockaway who has a very large house that could accommodate isolation. Miraculously DH and I never caught it, and eventually we all made it to SIL/BIL in Chicago. (DH has a large and extremely hospitable family.) Chicago was great - we did touristy things like the architectural boat tour and Chicago Art Institute and me and DDs took off for an afternoon in Wicker Park to go thrifting. (Exhibit 2 below).
From Chicago we went to Orlando for a quick break with my sister and nephews. We went to Epcot for the day. I ran back to the hotel around 2pm with a massive headache, but the rest of my family stayed until the bitter end and had a fabulous time. Finally to another SIL in Ft. Lauderdale, at which point it was a relief to have nothing more taxing than going to a giant mall (exhibit 1).
As for what I wore, #1 pretty much sums it up - Paul Allen dress ordered from TheRealReal for peanuts, second hand bag and my currrent favorite sandals. I liked them so much I got them in white on Poshmark (worn with newly thrifted white pants that need tailoring). My Issey Miyake poncho was my MVP while traveling again - worn here on the boat tour in Chicago, which was surprisingly chilly!
Thanks for looking, I am back at the thrift store for the meanwhile!
