Comfort is not an issue - they are extremely comfy.

I really like them on you! They don't look too gappy in the calf at all. The V at the front doesn't make them look too tall either.

At this price there is no fixing - they are either staying or going back. I think the bit of slouch comes from the fact that this is not stiff leather, but could be because even a supposed 13" calf width is too big for my stupid legs.

And if they are too tall, I need to see Rae's close-up; they hit in about the same place, but it could be that the rest of me is disproportionately stubbier.

I think they are too tall, too, but take with grain of salt since this is my major issue fitting tall boots and I have become incredibly picky about it. I adore the boots and if they are judged not too tall for you I might just have to order them myself to try out!

Okay, I have just learned that I must have the stubbiest calves in the world.

It says here the shaft height is over 18 inches.

Are your calves more than 18 inches long? And you a few inches shorter than me?

It's official. I am deformed.

They may also be looking taller because you are wearing light wash jeans, and they may be looking baggier because you also showed with bare legs.

If that is how you want to wear them, then probably pass.

If you'd wear them with dark wash, black, burgundy, or gray jeans, I think they are worth an attempt styling them that way. Because they do seem to hit in the same spot on you as they do on me.

I will say I love them irrationally, but having suffered through sending back the Julias, I can handle it if these have to go back.

But if so, I will be hunting down a pair of Chelsea boots with heels - I ADORE THESE. Wish I could send back the shaft for a smaller height, and keep the low boots!

Rae, I wore them with light jeans to show where they hit. In reality I would wear with tights or dark bottoms for sure. BTW these are the grey Citizens - I ADORE them.

Yeah, I hated mine with light wash jeans. I think that may be affecting the votes. But then I'd never want to wear them that way, anyhow, so no limitation.

I kind of feel like I should think they are too tall, but I don't! I love them! I think the V in the front saves them and makes them this kind of really cool almost-OTK height.

I really like them. I like very tall boots with jeans (so long as you can bend your knees). They may be too tall to wear with skirts, but you could always just wear the chelsea part on its own with dresses and skirts.

Thanks ladies! Wow, clear as mud. Maybe I should style them for real... I am a single mom with DH at a conference - between work, school, basketball and other commitments I can't ever find time! My life is interfering with my shopping!

I hope Angie chimes in. I keep going back and forth on them. Having seen the price tag, I'd want them to be perfect. Bare legged, they look a little too tall. Seems like the height would be prohibitive to wear with dresses unless you don't mind not showing any leg. I like them better with the skinnies even though they are a tad wrinkly--which makes them a little more RATE. My Cole Haans are wrinkly like that and I've made peace with the wrinkle. I'm a firm, I don't know and can't make a decision.

I don't think Rae took a vote on hers... and they look amazing. So maybe I need to style, and if they still don't get a thumbs-up, back they go. I can't tell If they are not quite right or just controversial in height but I've heard both yays and nays, and I trust all of you. *so confused*

Here are my $2 ( two cents sounds far too cheap). Keep them. Boots, shoes, clothes fit different needs in our life and wardrobe. For what you suggest you would wear these with: they would be mighty fine.

I think this is one of those TS's K/R "Ahas". Just keep and don't wait for any more opinions because you love them and they are comfy and you have a plan for how to style them in your life.

Una, I just tried to find a picture with these on somebody else to see how they fit them. No luck. But, I have an idea. What if you take the shaft part to a cobbler and have them shortened? It looks to be like there is a top band which could be reused. I think it is worth looking into.

They look as though they can't make up their mind whether or not they are an OTK boot or a knee-high boot. I love them - and would have a very difficult time (if I were you) returning these - but, they do look taller than a standard knee-high boot - but, shorter than a standard OTK boot! Hahahahahaha! I'm no help!

Well, I'm biased since I have them now too, but I love them. I think they look really good on you. Does the shaft height feel ok when you sit or bend in them?

I'm almost positive I'm keeping mine. I haven't even posted pics yet, but I really like them. But unlike you, they are not at all loose on my calf, and I would have them stretched a bit for more ease. These are definitely slim-fitting boots!

It's funny, my legs are long, but a lot of that length must be in my thighs, not my calves? These boots come up pretty high on me too.

Those boots are fantastic on you! They are supposed to be high like that, I love the v in the front. These are keepers, you will get tons of wear out of them in your climate.

I think they look great. BUT. The side view makes it look like maybe you can't bend your knee comfortably? Can you sit and squat with no troubles?

Rae has a good point. You will improve the too tall fit by wearing low contrast jeans and skinnies, Una. I think they pass the fit test when styled with care.

If they are comfy - make sure you can bend and stride too - my thumbs are up.
