DH bought them for me. Here's the story:

Last Christmas, about 8 good-sizes boxes arrived from Amazon. "I must have been a good girl this year!" I exclaimed to the UPS man on a seemingly daily basis (maybe not the thing you want to tell the UPS man, btw). On Christmas morning, I opened 8 boxes of....Bearpaw boots (not a huge fan, they're OK but EIGHT pairs?). There were brown ones, gray ones, ones with long socks attached, even purple ones. DH was so proud of himself, and with a big smile told me, "I heard they're really in style and fashionable!" and "You can keep them ALL if you want!" (Did you buy me a cabin in the woods to go with all these fuzzy boots?).

Long story even longer, seven of them didn't fit (darn), I kept the pair that did and I wear them with an appreciative smile, a kiss, and a "Thank you, honey" (see I really am a good girl). And yes, I have come to like them! DH really is a sweetie and he did buy me several other gifts last year that were wonderful.

So this is my version of Angie's skinnies/chunky sweater/boots ensemble.

Anyone else have an item in your closet with a funny story attached? I'll be back to read your comments later, I've been outside running around the house trying to wear out those boots (shh...that's our secret, OK...remember that "good girl" thing). And the doorbell is ringing...uh oh, it's the UPS man...I wonder what's in store for me this year?
