So this Summer I decided to try getting what I call a 'Statement Piece ' to be the star of my warm-weather outfits.
When I would normally balk at the price tag of these wide legged pants, I found the best price I could and bought them anyway!
So pleased I did.
Anyway today, I wore them to an 80th Birthday celebration with temps in the mid-20s C.
The linen blend and flowy style makes them cool and breezy.

These pants are beautiful on you and definitely make a very elegant statement. They are timeless, so well worth the investment as you should be able to wear them for years. This was a well thought out purchase.

Thanks Bijou, I am thinking of doing the same thing for each season.
It means getting fewer items to meet the budget, but I don't want or need a large wardrobe anyway.

I love the idea of these in summer. I just struggle with the actual look on my body -- so much volume on the bottom is tough for me. But you wear it well!

This is inspiring to me - a lesson I am struggling to learn. No matter how many pieces I own, there are those that get reached for again and again, because THEY work. I need to put better money on these types of items and stop wasting money on the outliers. It makes it impossible when I see the exciting purchases being made by you all, so sometimes I have to give myself a YLF time-out!

I love this outfit and your pants are just gorgeous. I would love to wear this type of look myself this summer. It is casual and easy but still put together. I might wear them with flats, myself, but heels look great too.

@Bennett I agree it is hard to stick to needs rather than wants with so much on offer. Pants are my most worn things so I figured spending more or them might work.
