Since doing some closet cleaning, I have been determined to find a way to wear my old blazers in a way that’s easy and casual, so today I tried this. I’d seen pics somewhere of blazers with pullover hoodies underneath, and my hoodies are either too casual (logos), zipper styles (I like the uncluttered front under a blazer), or just plain too bulky.

Well, I have this one thin hoodie that I wear en route to yoga, so I decided to try it with my BCBG slit arm blazer. I like the effect a lot, especially with sneakers to keep it really easy and casual.

Since this was so neutral, it was a good opportunity to wear this Topshop bag I found at the Rack a few weeks ago. I love orange but don’t wear a lot of it, and I liked the mix of playful graphic stripes and the refined structures style. Bonus: the chain-and-leather strap slips through the holders to convert in a flash from handheld to shoulder strap. A steal for $29!

Just when I was thinking I’d really like to try this hoodie+blazer look even more but wish I had more tops that would work, a UPS shipment from REI arrived with a fresh batch of socks for hubs and me. I had forgotten that I put a couple of sale tees in the order for me. One of them is a short-sleeve grey Smartwool hoodie tee. I changed into that and wore it the rest of the day under my blazer because the weather warmed up. I didn’t get pics of that shirt though. What good timing!
