the orphans get some wear - YouLookFab Forum

i wasn't deliberately trying, but for some reason, I've been reaching for some of my closet orphans. i think part of it is trying to bring silhouettes other than straight/skinny pants back into my look. part of it is just trying to mix up my uniform.
#1/2 --when i bought these pants 4 years ago, i wore them a lot. but then last year i don't think i wore them at all, but i wasn't ready to let them go. then on the 1st hot day we had this year (these pants are a linen blend), they were my 1st choice. the white knit blazer was also a past workhorse that last summer had moved to occasional wear. not sure it will be more than that this year, but it definitely still has a place.
#3 --the pants and blazer are workhorses. but the shirt is one that i had only wear once. not sure why i didn't wear this more often, but i loved this look, and i can see this shirt getting a lot of wear this summer.

anyone else finding orphans getting more wear this year?

Both looks are fab, I'm glad you're wearing your orphans. The top in 3 is very flattering, maybe now it well get into regular rotation. BTY I love both your pointy toe shoes and you look fantastic in skinnies, no wonder you wear them often.

I have several orphans that I need to play with. One is a beautiful white, cotton Zara blazer and I'm wondering if it's too " bright" for me... I'm curious why you were not reaching for your white blazer last year, might give me some clue on mine.

gracie, i think the reason i wasn't wearing the white blazer as much as in the past was/is the shape. it felt longer than what i was looking for. in fact, i bought a shorter BR blazer that i think will become my go to white blazer this summer.

I find that items can fall out of favour, especially if I wore them to death the season before. But I still keep them if I love them. That's okay. Often, they fall back into favour. I don't consider those items orphans.

kkards those are some really nice orphans!! pants awesome - it's especially nice to have a pair of pants to wear when it's scorching!! and the blazer in that longer length is a good look on you. I'd like to see another pic of that blouse - I'm really intrigued by it and I agree that it has some serious possibilities!!

You look so current and fresh in both outfits. I love the pant width and the pointy toes peeking out in #1. The design on your top in #2 is lovely, a kind of lace overlay? You look great in the slim legs and what fab shoes!

I also love both combinations. I think the pointy shoes make them both current. So much fun shopping the wardrobe! And cheap:)
