The neutral zone - YouLookFab Forum

So many of you on YouLookFab have been displaying fabulous neutral-toned outfits lately, and today I couldn't help but join the party. I recently duplicated my Me Too Kaden flats. Originally I had them in black with colorful tweed, which I love and have been wearing all winter and early Spring, and they have been so comfortable that I scooped up this beige and black pair to replace my very old Me Too Swann beige and black flats. They also remind me a lot of the Stuart Weitzman flats that Angie is modeling here:

I "remixed" a recent favorite combination-a cheetah print pussycat bow shell under a black faux-wrap dress. I liked how the animal print really echoed the neutral colors in the flats.

This is lovely Kari! You look just as fab in neutrals, they really let your pretty skin and hair shine. Great new flats (the tweedy pair is one of my faves of yours!), and you're right they really echo the animal print nicely. I almost wore this same color combo today, but I couldn't bear to be in that much black once I saw how rainy it was Maybe tomorrow!

I love layering blouses under my dresses...mine are often sleeveless so it solves the sleeve problem but also gives a nice depth to the dress. You've capture that same sense in this outfit. the layering makes the dress extra special.

This is so sophisticated Kari - love it. I love those beige/black flats - I'm wondering about something like that myself for my casual+dressy capsule (items that go be worn either way).

You've nailed it, Jenava. I loved this dress but struggled with it until I learned how to layer more than a basic camisole underneath. Now it feels so much more versatile!

I've always admired these shoes of Angie's and you've created a beautiful neutral zone of your own with your version of the shoes. Plus, the layering of the bow blouse is so very creative and inspires me, as Jenava also mentions, to do under dresses. Very nice, Kari.

Thanks! I love how these shoes have just enough black to temper the beige, but still kind of function as a nude shoe for me.

Those shoes are great! I am replacing all of my Swanns as well (they have served me well) and I like the two tone style of this one for you. It's a good combo of two neutrals.
Nice change of pace to do some neutrals - animal print is so fun.

You do neutrals just as well as brights! I love the animal print blouse underneath the dress, what a great idea! The dress by itself wouldn't have been nearly as special. I love those flats on you--they do look like Angie's. They are going to be so versatile with your clothes! Another winning outfit from Kari!
