The Light Neutral Coat: Donkey!

Earlier today I posted about light neutrals, but I forgot to show you the "donkey" (As per Angie) colored coat that I wore to top that outfit. This is a BR wrap coat, and the color reminds me of the one Carter had on yesterday in her WIW posts. I much prefer this color to grey on me as a lighter neutral. I love it with ivory and gold!

Una why do they look bad on you? Have your tried more caramelly colors instead of the cooler mushroom/cocoa/taupe version of neutrals?

I feel like all shades of browns, unless really deep, just wash me out or make me look jaundiced. But maybe you are onto something! Anyway, your outfit is so inspiring!

Oh wow! I love this coat on you... so elegant. This is one of my favorite colors and donkey is the sweetest name for it. You are right..this color really does work better than gray. I have been thinking that gray and donkey were equally flattering for cool blondes but there is something about this color that is magical. Attaching a pic of a donkey and her shy baby that I took in SD, just for fun (further confirmation that ivory looks good with donkey:)

The coat looks just lovely. I'm not sure I could wear that colour but you seem to be a warmer blonde than me:). It's an interesting tone because it's kind of not grey and not brown yet it is a bit of both. Love the design.

This is a very sophisticated color on you karymk. I much prefer it to other beiges/browns. Sadly, I can't wear any of them so I will admire it from afar.

Karymk, I really don't know what neutrals looks best on me. I have greenish veins, so I think that's a warm skin tone, but I have blue eyes and pale skin. It's all a mystery to me!

I love that color! I would have called it taupe - a cross between light brown and grey. It's a new favorite for me since my hair went silver.

Jeannie I would have thought the same, that grey and the donkey would do the same thing for cool blonds, but not so! I am actually pretty neutral and can wear warmth too so that may be why I can wear Donkey better. Adorable pics! Lol! For sure those must be the first donkey photos on YLF ever.

Deborah you are indeed warmer! I can see that all the way across the internet waves to Australia...

Karie, I have green veins and then blue ones right next to them! So who knows if that is a good test. It could also mean you are a more neutral type, which almost makes the job of color more confusing for you.

Jaileen, I think taupe is great for silvering ladies too.

Joy, this style coat is a wildcard for me because it is very simple, sophisticated and not at all playful like most of my stuff. I have been really inspired by how you pull off your light neutral looks!

Oh, I love this on you! Both color and cut! I'm a self-analysed warm (or true) spring, so I doubt that the color "donkey" would work for me. Too bad - donkeys are my favorite animals! Well, I could probably make it work if I wore it with a scarf in cream or ivory. That's what i usually do when I want to wear a top or topper in a not so flattering color
