The Leith track pants... thank you to Mtgirl!

Mtgirl was so sweet and sent me these Leith track pants that werent working for her climate. I recieved them yesterday as was so excited to try a few stylings...

#1 i have on a citron drapey T but it got totally washed out be the afternon sun.
#2 shoes dont work!
#3 I am actually grabing the rail b/c I am falling down... these shoes wont do either
#4 I love this doty silk shirt. Maybe my best buy of the year so far.
#5 Not sure... opinions? These are my most comfortable shoes... I am not sure they are the best with the Leith's but are they passable?
#6 uh.. strike out!
#7 I like this...
#8 do I need buttons with lower contrast on the jacket?
#9 What I'm going to be wearing today (I will dry my hair and do my toenails before going anywhere....)

Feedback on what works, what doesnt, what else to try is much appreciated (I cant really do heels for foot health and chasing toddlers reasons so while I know pumps look great with the track pants in Angie's stylings they just arent possible for me....)

Oh, yeah! YLF. I like all ofthe silky tops better than 6 & 7 but you've done a super job of styling. Wouldn't have thought of jacket #3--so fun. This is a keeper for you for sure.

Okay, I am wearing #9 and was told by a teacher at DD's preschool that I am a brave woman for bringing the hammer pants back from the 80's (wasnt that the 90's?). I feel good about my outfit, but do I look ridiculous?

(I like to look unique, and I seem to like to walk the fine line between fab and frumptastic so I do fall off to the wrong direction occasionally...)

LOL! Those are clearly not Hammer pants. (I believe it was the 90's as I was working in the town where he was building his mega-mansion.) My faves are 3,4,5, and 9. I love the pointy toe flats with them and the strappy sandals. Very cool and modern. Glad the pants are getting a second life via you!

People! Honestly!!

You look fabulous in the pants, Sarah! My favourite looks are 4 (super special star!!), 5, and 9. You're right, that dotty shirt was a fab purchase and it looks wonderful with these. I think the shoes work in 5 because the gold picks up the warm tones in the top. Ideally, a pointier toe might be best, but these are definitely okay.

As I think more about what she said and how she said I truly think it was meant at face value and was a compliment, like you really have guts to wear something no one else would wear here and that isnt conventionally flattering. As I think back, I know I've mentioned in conversation that I read some fashion blogs, and she has asked at least twice what inspired a particular look. I know I am more prone to being oversensitive when tired and, boy, am I tired this week....

Kellygirl -- thans for the vote on the strappy sandals, I think this will become my go to shoe with the pant for 70's and 80's F fall/spring weather.

Suz -- Now #4 shirt is officially the best buy of the year. I am glad you think the shoe can pass. I dont know that I like it paired overmuch but comfortable shoes are a necessity.

Glory -- Thanks, I cant believe me and fashionable are in the same sentence. I have felt very awkward with fashion for a long time in the past so I really appreciate it

Karie -- Yeah! Now I can be a YLF twin (well, more than twin, a multiple of some number... I know there are more out there!)

Woot - that was fast!!!

My absolute favorites are 4 & 5. I love polka dots so that might be why but I suspect it is the low vamp of the shoes in that one. I love the shirt in 5 so I am biased.

In 1, I personally would try a lower contrast shirt. It is fine the way it is, that may just be me. I don't care for the blouse in 6. I think because it is cut straight across and is a bit longer. I love 9 too. You have awesome sandals and shoes to try with these!

I just read what the teacher said. About #9? No way! I see no Hammer time.

People ALWAYS look me up and down because I wear booties with my skirts. In the past I would stop wearing those things because I felt uncomfortable. With the encouragement of YLF I now hold my head high with a little smirk on my face. Hopefully some day it will be a smile, but baby steps here.

A little old lady looked me up and down the other day then said "you look so cute." You never know!

Mtgirl, Thanks a milion for sending these. I love that story about the lady and "you look cute!" I hope the rayon pnes will be great for you and the drier weather. It is really funny, for two years I kept thinking I wanted black ponte pants... but I could never find any where the fit suited. Now, I htink really thin the woven fabication of these is going to work a million times better for me. I appreciate you sending them so much!
