Still loving cobalt and sapphire, although I'm adding more berry/wine this year. This is a new top from Kohl's, by Apt 9. Love the subtle pleating around the v-neckline and the subtle hi/low hem (sorry, didn't get the profile shot). It's polyester, but flows away from the body, so overheating is not a problem, and it's construction is quite good for the price. I sized generously, because drape is the name of the game here! They have this style of top in several colors and a couple of nice geometric prints.

I chose to wear my Bobeau dot skirt, after seeing other YLFers wear it as a Summer item, and added my cage sandals and a pewter metallic link necklace.

I feel confident in the color, but I hope the waist surrender, plus the length of the skirt isn't flouting figure flattery too much. Viewing this picture reminds me that wash 'n go hair has to be cut to keep any shape at all! Time for a trim!

the colour combo is beautiful and the proportions are perfect. I think the surrendered waist looks great on you. The blouse is just the right length. And I cannot get enough of that skirt, I really is a stunning garment. AND I love the cage sandals. The skirt has the potential to read very classic to me but the cage sandals edge up the overall look. Ok, just in in case I wasn't clear.... I LOVE IT!

You had me at cobalt. Luv this outfit! You are working that skirt beautifully. I need to check out that top next time I'm at Kohl's. YLF!

AJ: Apt 9 also has an "Equipment Blouse" knock off. Both styles are generously sized and, while polyester, the fabric is a lovely weight, and the stitching is well done.
BTW: J Lo (Kohls) has a new Leith style track pant. Too skinny in the calves (again) for me, but a good deal. The newest versions have a pretty good fabric. Again, size down, unless you have burly calves like me!

For some reason, the patterns of the skirt and sandals playing off each other make this all kinds of awesome. And that's before you add cobalt to the mix. Positively stunning. And so easy and chic with your wavy hair.

Thanks for the YLF boost! I'm still dressing somewhat out of the norm, so I don't get much feedback IRL. My DH did comment quite positively on this being one of my best colors, and he proceeded to mention berry, deep purple and teal as a few others -- nailed it.

Lovely! That is my color combo favorite lately as well (we have similar coloring) and I like the skirt a lot on you. I just realized that although I have been trying on a bunch of midi length skirts lately, it is the lack of a mid heel sandal that holds me back from buying one - your cage sandal is making this look be so pulled together!

Christianne: Mid-height shoes are tough to find in my town and price points. There are still lots of sky-high options, but I prefer to walk like a woman, not a flamingo! Perhaps a refined wedge for you? I think the midi skirt work really well with lower heeled boots and booties. The visual weight seems to compensate for the lack of lift.

You nailed it. An 11 out of 10. Colors, shapes and lengths are all perfect. I particularly like the way that top works with the skirt. It is just oversized enough to de-bombshell the skirt. But it's not huge like a maternity top either. Fluid, very fluid.
