I’m hunting to add 1 to 2 each Midi skirts and dresses this spring and summer. Here are my first attempt. I also have this black skirt from Boden coming later, and my eye on couple of other dresses.

My goal is to pair these and other midis with the white sneakers I’m wearing here, and with a variety of sandals later on. The white sneakers or some thing I’ve seen in a lot of styling photos, and especially when the pattern has some weight in it, the look is very fresh to my eye.

1. Boden dress. Their colors and patterns can put me off at times, but I like this one. The pattern and color scheme aren’t like anything else in my closet, which is good. I like this, and I hope the side view is not unflattering. That’s my only slight qualm, it I’ve seen dresses on me that look much worse from that angle. ETA - I didn’t realize that side pic was blurry. Ah well.

2. Loft skirt. I almost never find skirts I like there, but I really like this one! I’m not a big fan of polkadots but don’t mind the smaller scale ones. The magic BR top looks great with it. ( I now find myself wanting yet another one, a fourth one, maybe in kelly green. It’s a problem.) Thumbs up on the skirt.

I will report again when the black skirt arrives.

ETA - I had a chance to try on the other dress I was coveting, from Madewell. Find to follow. This makes my 90’s loving heart sing!!! Like most wrap tops on me, it’s a bit too big. I can’t size down since the waist is perfect. Is the usual alteration for this kind of thing to add a snap? I am also happy to wear a cami under it since this won’t be for the hottest weather.

ETA 2 - the black Boden skirt came. It’s nice fabric but clings a bit around the belly, which will make it hard for me to tuck anything into it. I didn’t take a picture yet, sorry. I am ordering a different option from Nordie’s, by Endless Summer by Free people. I want to compare the two.

Final ETA - the Boden skirt is a contender. I have to figure or how to style it without tucking, so I need to do an outfit lab to be sure. Added photo with an awkward semi-tuck. The Free people skirt is even tighter around the middle. It’s going back. I wore the Madewell dress with fashion tape and a half cami but will be having a snap out in soon. Fashion tape didn’t cut it. The cami is unfortunately a necessity.
