I bought a miracle blouse from Ann Taylor in November 2011. This is my "power" blouse. The neckline could not be more perfect for me. The sleeve length is perfection. It is silk with some elasticity and the comfort level is off the scale. Never too hot; never too cold. The colors are a swirl of black, grey, and cream. It coordinates with ALL my jewelry. Of course, it matches every single pair of black or cream slacks I own.

It fits me regardless of how much weight is lost or gained. It is still the most important garment I reach for when I need to feel both confident and competent.

So ...... today I had to meet the press (only the second such interview in my entire life). I was apprehensive. Naturally I reached for the most powerful garment in my closet. I felt great. At some point today, I realized the silk beneath the arm had torn. Just split apart. Not along a seam or anything that is repairable. The silk just split.

I managed to get through the day, and the interview, by keeping my arm against my body the entire time. I don't think it was noticeable to anyone, but it gives me pause. How do you replace a miracle blouse? I can't believe I will be lucky enough to find two miracles in one lifetime.

I skimmed NAS this evening. NOTHING I saw said miracle. Everything was ... well ... mundane.
