I found THE green winter coat for which I have been searching over hill and dale. It is just the right shade, it fits nicely, and it got to come home with me and is resting comfortably, tags off. All is right with the world!

Hubby went shopping with me last weekend and we went to about ten stores but no joy. He was very patient. When I asked him to go with me again this weekend, again for the green coat, I feared he might grumble. But he is either the world's most easygoing friend, or a very good actor, because he agreed. I also promised him lunch and treats, which might have been a factor.

We found it at the first store we visited (Macy's), and the first one I chose fit like a dream (Petite Size 12). I also tried a Petite 10, wondering if it would fit better in the shoulders. It was a little trimmer in the shoulders, but I felt my arm movement was restricted too much, so I went for the larger size.

Here it is in red so you can zoom in and see the neat pique-like weave.

I really like the grassy color of the green because it will be great for winter but will also lend itself to springtime, and not be relegated to a "Christmas coat." Also this shade is more me than a jewel tone.

I'm so glad I didn't settle for a black coat which would have been lovely but felt boring to my sensibility. Thanks, fabbers, for helping me know myself and wait for the right one to come along.
