The final dress contender, one Rack sweater and a WIW in the wild

This is the Free People tunic my niece lent me. The red one arrived too, but it is 1) smaller and less flowy in the same size and 2) some beads were falling off when I took it out of the bag. So it's this one against the blue and red dresses I posted earlier. Honestly, I like this one. These are not the leggings or shoes I would wear but you should get an idea of the outfit. I'm showing the red one too just for comparison.

The second outfit is a Vince cashmere sweater from the Rack. Teal seems to be a newfound color for me. Keep or return?

The third outfit is what I wore to the cabin last weekend. I lost my balance taking the picture! My DH has more pics that are actually out in nature, but I can't find them.

I really like the black Free People. As to whether it's a better choice than one of the two dresses, I don't know. How does it feel in comparison to you? What would make you happier to wear?

The teal sweater looks great and will be super useful. Do you think it is a new colour because of your hair? It does look super with grey.

Also, the "in the wild" outfit is fantastic.

I like the tunic in #1 much better than the one in #2. That cashmere sweater looks gorgeous and super comfy - now I think I have to go to our new Rack! I am such a lemming. #4 looks like the perfect cabin outfit.

I really like the way the beading in the black picks up the shimmer of silver in your hair. And I really love the teal sweater!

I like the black one and the red one from the other picture. I can't decide between these two, but you couldn't go wrong with either one!

Oh I love that black dress so much! Way more than the other dresses you posted, but of course you should opt for what you're most comfortable in. I'm just so fond of embellished clothing, hehe. (Also, I think the way the 'sleeves'-straps? not sure what the right term is-are cut on this dress is super flattering to your shoulders compared to the straighter cuts on the other two dresses, but that might be my personal broad shoulder hang ups coming out.)

The new sweater is gorgeous & I'm sure you'll get use out of it with your long winters, so I vote keep.

Love your in the wild cabin look too; that colour combo & the shapes are just so flattering on you.

E - I agree! This neckline is more flattering and more comfortable for me. It's black, but I can live with that and it's probably more versatile.

I like the black best too. The neckline is better. And the sparkles lift it a notch above the blue.

Black! I vote black. You look stunning in black, and I think this dress will be perfect for the event, suitably festive, and it feels a bit East-meets-West to go with the theme.
The cashmere is gorgeous! Great shape of sweater and lovely color. I also like your cabin outfit. Yes, teal tones are looking very nice on you.

Just checked back on your earlier dress post and agree that the black is a clear winner. It looks amazing on you and perfect for a film festival premiere! Plus it checks your East-meets-West box perfectly.

I'm very much liking you in teal, and second E's comment on the cabin outfit elements--nicely balanced, good colours for late summer, and nothing beats a vest for temperature regulation.

I'm sorry but I'm not loving these tunics. They look like Indian wedding wear to me. Is your intention to wear something characteristically Indian? Or just dressy? If former - the black tunic would be perfect. It does look great on you. If you're trying sophisticated dressy, I much prefer the earlier red dress.

Manny, my sister has asked that we wear something Indian-ish. Not necessarily traditional but not a typical Western event dress. Does that change your opinion? Also, note that this tunic has a racetrack which is not very Indian... Thanks for your honesty!

I love the black Free People tunic! Definitely like this best out of everything you showed. I agree with Eva that the neckline is very flattering on you. The teal pullover is a great color and looks very cozy, i vote keep.

I prefer the black to the red here, but my favorite is the red from your earlier post. Just loved the neckline on you so much!

What Suz said. I like the black beaded dress best here, but am not sure about whether it's better than the red tunic and leggings from the previous thread. How will you top off in case it gets cold?

Weather forecast for next Friday in TO is 21C and mostly sunny. It will cool down to about 16 at night. The air is still quite humid so it feels warmer than it is, particularly in the city.

However -- that's a big "maybe." It has been hot, hot, and stinking hot for the last week and forecasts right up until that day continue on the very hot theme. So if anything, I think Una might want to forego leggings. At least I would in that situation.

The weather is supposed to break this week and cool off a lot. It seems the weather here and in TO is just a few days apart.

I like the black tunic but I looked at your other thread and know it's completely sheer.

Even with a slip under it I worry about the event's pro flash photography showing more than you'd like -- esp if it's too warm for leggings!

That said it's a cool piece -- though it reads a little more small "e" event than big-E; I liked the other 2 dresses more for the premiere. I've kind of lost track as to how many parties you're going to, though -- seems like you might need a real variety!

Vix, my brother and I plan to sneak into any event we can! So the more we look the part the better.... I am wearing a solid black slip under this and think it may be too short without leggings. I do have a pair of silk harem pants that might work and still look edgy Indian.... Manny has also given me a couple of other suggestions. Since this red one is going back it is a moot point, but I haven't yet returned the other red one from my earlier post. Maybe I'll bring both and consult my mom and sister as well as see how the weather is!

The black dress is very nice and if you're not sure you'll have much opportunity to wear either of the other two, just as well to spend the money on something else.

I love the sweater! and you're outdoor outfit is great. Your hair is just amazing looking, it's like a statement accessory, beautiful.

Una - The black Free People tunic is gorgeous, and I hardly ever pick black over a color. It is so good. I am not seeing anything like that from Free People lately, but wish I did.
Teal loves you, it's a great addition to your wardrobe.
You look great in your cabin outfit, even tipping over!
