The drought seems to be over! I just went through another round of ordering dresses, this time mostly from Macy's. Jaileen you are my dress shopping twin!. I found a few that I think will work ***HAPPY DANCE****! Finds are not working for Macys right now (Inge has notified Greg) so for now I created custom finds. I have to think through how I would wear these a bit more, but I could definitely use a couple of new dresses for spring/summer, including at least one that is a bit dressy.

Would love you hear your comments and suggustions!

1+2+3 dress 1) Red print; this seems a little big, but I don’t think I like it enough to order a size down. The way the pattern is placed in the back looks like a mistake (remembering Janet identified a similar issue with different dress an now I think to look for it), and the poly knit would not be great for hot summer although the style would.

4+5 dress 2) Blue/White floral: this fits really well and I like it. Can range between casual and more polished depending on accessories.

6+7 dress 3) Navy print in tan/white; fits well or maybe just a tiny bit big in the top, very classic. It looks good but I’m a little bored with styles and prints that are this classic.

8+9 dress 4) Navy Polka Dot; fits well, a bit body con/slinky for me but I like it a lot. The asymmetric neckline is nice.

10+11 dress 5) Navy print w/pink (it’s called Melon but is pink) : fits well, another slinky one. I think I like this even better than the polka dot one. What, me liking pink???? Has the universe exploded???

12+13 dress 6) The striped Catherine Malandrino from Lord & Taylor is a lovely dress, but did not fit right. The bodice on this size 12 is completely off on me; armholes too low, and it pulls awkwardly where it crosses over in front. If I wanted to tackle alterations at the shoulder (working around the gathering cords), I could fix all of this, but I’m not sure I like the dress more than some of the others. It’s a chiffon pleated fabric, very “party dress” and fully lined. The pink color in the print is more visible IRL than in the photo. The fabric is just a little bit scratchy even with the lining, and I’m not particularly sensitive to that. Could be a perfect wedding guest dress for someone.

14 dress 7) I decided to return the WHBM navy hi/lo hem dress I got earlier (“Janet’s dress”) because I don't think it looks nearly as good on me as some of these other dresses.

DH said he liked the blue print floral and the two slinky ones. “Like” is very high praise from him.

I need to do a careful shoe review…I may need something new. I’m even considering white…again, has the universe exploded?
