I have a love hate relationship with purple. It's an eye enhancer, since my eyes are hazel, but just too cool toned to wear with black or jewel tones (on me).
So I default to wearing it with burgundy, orange, or brown to keep in my dark autumn lane.
The skirt is from NAS a few years ago, and I recently overdyed it to move the color a little redder. Since the other pieces are new this year it's a debut pairing!

I have always loved purple but it isn't often at retail. I love it the way you are wearing it with the tan top and sandals. Great skirt!

I wear this skirt quite a lot in fall. It's good for the days it's still too warm for pants.

Looks good! I like purple with camel and golden brown tones. Nice with gold too.

I like purple but find it a little difficult to work with. It’s very blue based and blue is possibly my worst colour (although I like blue too).

I’ve recently become quite obsessed with purple in combination with teal, blue and green. I’m working on some kind of capsule which will eventuate some time. It’s a long term plan

Oh, I know exactly what you mean! The right purple is great, but for me it has to be a warm plummy purple with lots of red and brown in it, almost burgundy. Blue-based purples miss the mark (maybe because they match the dark circles under my eyes? ). I’ve ended up with lots of pieces in the wrong shades of purple in the past, especially for gear, which manufacturers seem to overproduce in “girly” colours so the clearance section is always full of pink and purple and aqua… Trying hard not to settle these days!

I think you get top marks in the colour challenge for mixing colours that are not obvious matches in a beautiful way - this is such a rich colour combination. I love how the pattern in your skirt echoes the pattern on your bag. Your bag is just a signature Suntiger piece - it really enhances everything you put it with.

I want to go and live in Brooklyn's inspiration photo #3, I'm sure Margot would enjoy sitting on one of those comfy couches.

Love the purple, teal, green combo- and have peacock bags that work with it! It's just too Winter for my coloring though- especially when I don't have bare arms and legs to balance it out.
The browner redder purples I call burgundy, and use as neutral!

This is such a lovely unusual combination, Suntinger - very elegant and interesting. The outfit is a bomb! Love the silhouette - you look super fabulous. The new bag is beautiful with everything you wear - a great find!
I love purpur and I would love to have your skirt. I would wear it with cool colors like cool violette, bright yellow, antracit, black … I am a typical winter, perhaps dark winter, so somewhat close to dark autumn, but not quite.

Well done! This looks nice. I am super picky about purples, even though they are mostly good on my coloring. This looks like it turned out rather plum-ish, and plum to eggplant shades are my favorite purples to wear. If only more were available — seems not much to my liking is made in those colors these days!

Purple is my favorite color, and I have a lot of it and wear it in pretty much all the shades. For this fall, I am going to try something new for me which is to wear it with browns/earth tones (inspiration photos below).

Have you considered a peacock print top? Spoonflower has some amazing peacock fabric designs that can be printed on a variety of fabrics.

Like Bijou, I say good job on the colour composition! The top relates to the shoes, the topper to your purse and skirt, keeping the eye moving through the whole outfit like a painting!

I'm right there with you on purple @SunTiger - love it but it needs to be a deep aubergine purple. Only with that level of warmth & richness does it work as a pseudo neutral on me.

Looks lovely in your skirt, though! I managed to buy the Kettlewell jersey maxi skirt in purple last winter, but am still dithering on whether it's the 'right' purple for me. Maybe that's why I keep buying purple in bottoms, instead of anywhere near my face lol...

And @Brooklyn those photos look similar to the inspiration photos I have pinned to my moodboard for decorating my own place - planning to marry together Chinese & Pakistani influences using teal, purple, chocolate & gold (instead of the usual red that you frequently find in Pan Asian art). I like the suggestion of peacock feathers for those colours, but have also found unexpected inspiration in oil spills for a similar scheme (albeit more iridescent).
