The butterfly effect - yay or nay

I just returned four things to Nordstrom that didn't work out, but naturally I couldn't escape without trying on this dress. It caught my eye and I loved it so much when Nakidra posted it, I had to try it on.

What do you think? I would dress it down and funk it up with my new black lace-up heeled boots.

Yay = get

Nay = wait for something more casual

PS I just edited to add... Almost the same dress in purple! I could use more solids in my closet. I have an abundance of prints!

Ok I keep adding things, sorry! This is the Calvin Klein dress from Angie's sleeved dresses blog post. I like it too!

A definite YAY! Very sophisticated, and I love the midi length. This could virtually take you anywhere. And you're right - perfect for dressing up or down. My vote is Get it!

I just love the new length and the sleeves! Get them both! I could become a dress person with these new styles! Would also be great with a vest...or tights...or a jacket....the possibilities are endless.

I couldn't take it any smaller (this is a size small) -- any smaller is too tight in the hip. There is some room in the top, but it doesn't bother me since the waist is so defined.

You rock the midi too! I both midi's--for some reason, the print seems more "you" at least to me. Maybe you need to get the solid. The CK is a knock out as well. You must keep that one for sure!

I love the styles of 1 and 2 but they look a little big to me (in the chest and shoulders). Can you size down? I like the fit of #3 better and I adore the print. Looks great as is with those boots!

The print on the first dress is really pretty, but of the trio, I prefer #3 on you Janet. It fits better and I like that length better on you as well. The first two dresses look a little too big for you, especially up top, and have a bit too much volume.

You look great in the midi length. My favorite dress on you, however, is the CK wrap dress--very flattering, and it looks great with the boots. This dress would also be very versatile in dressing up or down. I want to like the butterfly print dress, but (to me) the print just seems too big. The purple dress is nice, but IMO just so so.

Told you that those midis were outstanding! Love them! LOVE. LOVE!!!!

(I'm midi obsessed).

To my eye the midis look better than #3. New, fresh, edgy. Those dresses are supposed to blousson and not be tight.

I like #2! Love the color, and it'll dress up well with a patterned belt. It would be a great solid if you are looking to add a solid.....#1 is nice too.

I like #3 the best too. I think I prefer the fit and overall style of it. Of the first two I think I prefer the one in the print. The print makes my eye travel around the dress and I like how pretty and delicate it is.
