Every year, when temps soar, I'm drawn to a blue and white striped dress. Most people think a white dress is the ideal summer dress, but for me, it's always blue and white stripes. I don't know why. Maybe it has to do with the 4th of July, summer picnics, or visions of summer bedsheets blowing on the laundry line. Anyways, 2 years ago, it was a blue and white dress from the Bass outlet. Last year it was one from Gap. This year, it's this number from Target. I'm rarely on Team Wear, as I want to make sure it's a keeper. However, each year the lure of this type of dress makes me tear the tags off right away and ALWAYS at the end of the night I regret my decision.

This dress drew my attention because of the apron type look of the dress. Plus I thought the large pockets were adorable. Bonus points for the cotton lining and airy, slouchy fit. But by the end of the day, I felt like I was wearing an old fashioned uniform for a bakery or hospital and the bagginess seemed dumpy when added to the fact that the dress wrinkled like crazy.

ACK, how to stop this bad summer tradition? How about you, is there a specific item you repeatedly buy and regret?
