This doesn't completely fit the formula, because there are subtle pink stripes (as well as a greyish white stripe) in this Comrags asymmetrically pleated cotton-linen skirt. But it comes pretty close.

I was hoping to wear this today. But it is too cold. June-uary in the PNW!! Brrr. I put on jeans, sweater, and scarf instead. Oops!

I love the first outfit, practical but very chic. I can really tell you are petite in this photo, more so than most of your other posts.
Love #2 as well! It looks summery while still being warm. The scarf adds interest, I am quite taken with the gingham:-)

Yes! We are most certainly experiencing some of the same weather in northern Alberta, along with rain which I am very thankful for. The smoke has cleared (yay!!) after the terrible fires of last summer, that actually smouldered all winter. We were starting to see smoke in the area again and with it came dread (and fire bans) but the rain has just taken care of it all so nicely!

Chilly here today too. I'm in long sleeves and pants myself. Mr. Suz having to kneel - this makes me smile. And as Tina said, having him take the photo really does show how petite you are, which I too didn't appreciate from your selfies. But to the point : that Comrags skirt is GORGEOUS on you! You should be an ambassador for the brand !

It is true, I am short! Only barely petite at 5'4" -- but, well, I guess technically I qualify.. Below average height for sure. Sigh....

Sounds like the weather is grumpy all over!! But Tina, that is great news about the fires...really pleased if cool temps and wet can keep fire at bay. It's the last thing you need now!

I love Comrags! Their items are on the pricey side, but not terrible for a Canadian designer brand and if you catch a good sale (as I have, for all my purchases) they are within reason. (For example, this skirt was $70 -- a pure cotton-linen blend, resists wrinkling, and excellent for hot weather.) Their styles do not date. (This skirt is from a few seasons ago; hence the price reduction -- but they have been making skirts in this pattern with small variations for over a decade and will continue to use the pattern with new fabrics going forward. This version is more midi length than earlier ones.)

Angie, I will certainly wear the skirt with my low heeled sandals, if I ever get a chance to wear them again! Sure hoping I do!

Suz, according to the CDC, the average height for adult women (in the US -- I'm not sure of Canada's stats) is 5'3.5" -- so you and I are just a smidge above average at 5'4". The way clothes are modelled and marketed makes us feel like everyone is 6" taller than us; it's crazy!

We’ve had some cooler weather this winter but yesterday was 25 and today 24 in sunny Brisbane ! We call it #Brinter in acknowledgment that’s it not really anything like winter !

Nice to see a fellow cusp-petite in a wider skirt (I'm 5ft3.5" on a good day - and yes, that extra half inch is very important to note haha) - it suits you! Your cropped jacket is also great on your frame - have been looking for a dark washed denim jacket that's cropped on my height forever...

I definitely identify with 'looking' tall in some photos & not others.

Suz - out of curiosity, where did you find the skirt on their website? I noticed the sale section is very , very small. Not looking for that particular skirt, but just wondering if the current selection of sale pieces is indicative of the norm. My gosh, I'd forgotten how terrific their clothes are - I'd have no problem selecting a dozen pieces with my lottery winnings.

Lisa, it's sold out now. They have bi-annual sales and if you are on their mailing list they send you a notice. Often there are only a few of each item on sale. I think I got the last skirt like this, and the last of my two piece dress (in Finds below) in the winter sale (there are tops left but not the skirt, I think...) During the bi-annual sale there is considerably more on sale than you see now...but stuff goes very quickly. A lot of stuff that is now in the regular price category was on sale during the big sale. Then they put it back to regular price, and then (maybe, if it doesn't sell...) back on sale...until it is gone.

It’s 57 F here very unusual for June. So I think the cool weather is reaching all the way to central California.

As for being “average height,” I am exactly 5’3.5” and I agree with Zaeobi - that .5” matters. ;-). I am always teased about being short by my boyfriend who adds 1.5” to his claimed height. Frail male ego but I love him anyway.
