Those beyond my age inspire me greatly each day. I respect your wisdom, stamina, intelligence, elegance, compassion and sense of inner peace. And OF COURSE, I praise your ongoing passion for fashion and style, how amazing you look, and your brilliant attitudes. I learn from you, and am grateful for that. Thank you for being role models, and making me look forward to the next 100 years of my life.

Onto celebrating life each day.

Wow, Angie, this almost made me cry. It is so touching. I pinch myself when I think of having "found" you on the web. You are such an amazing person and your gratitude in general is inspirational. Some of the greatest lessons that I have learned have been from youngins' like yourself. : )

This is such a timely post. I started reading Walden by Thoreau. And it was making me angry ! LOL. I have to be the only person on earth who gets angry reading Walden. The reason was that he thought he had nothing to learn from his elders. In fact, Thoreau asks at one point, ( paraphrasing), what can a man of 70 teach me ?

And then your beautiful post !

Thanks Angie, you are my creative younger sister (I always wanted a sister so I am officially adopting you) and I know when we are old and grey we will still be falling in and out of love with ruffles, zippers, ink blue and whatever else is the item of the day. Aw, thank you, Angie. You are a gorgeous 43, but you'll be amazing at 53, incredible at 63, spectacular at 73, glorious at 83, and awe-inspiring at 93.

Aging has its challenges, without a doubt, but it's also a lot of fun. With my 65th birthday approaching, I've come to realize that I feel so much freer these days to express myself through my appearance without feeling the pressure to conform to other people's expectations. You've helped me enormously to rediscover the fun that comes from experimenting with ideas and trends that make me push my boundaries; slouchy khakis, faux-tucking, pointy boots, embellished sweatshirts, linen tees, and leather moto jackets are just a few examples of how you've changed this senior's wardrobe!

I'm only a few months older than you, but echo the above about loving this environment you created here. I came here looking for over 40 advice that didn't put me in conservative clothes that were not and never will be 'me'. You take the whole of the person into account here, not just their calendar age, and that's special in and of itself!

Your blog offers such a positive outlook on women in general, and coupled with your infectious love for fashion and clothing it's downright inspiring to read. I've been instructed, persuaded and entertained by all of it. It lends itself to a certain fearless attitude about wardrobe and life that feels great at 64. And it's paired with responsible discussions of financial, emotional, body and societal issues.

What's not to like??? It's pretty perfect. We're all lucky ones.

I believe women should have. at least one friend their age,one older and one younger. ...my life feels in balance when this occurs.

Since I have been a member here I feel I've been a part of engagements and weddings as well as breakups, the joy of birth as well as the heartbreak of losing babies, the fun of new pets and the pain of losing a treasured companion, loss of jobs and finding new ones, fighting horrible disease and wonderful travels. I'm 48 now but strangely it wasn't until just before my 47th birthday that I suddenly woke up one day and realised I'd entered my 'mid life'. I'll admit that I was scared for a while but it was with the help of you Angie and other 40 plus bloggers that I came to realise that my style life wasn't over, it was just beginning.

Oh Angie, I love you so much! I wish the rest of the world appreciated us over 50s as much as you do. It's a good thing we've grown to love ourselves, as well as learned how to surround ourselves with loving people. Even if that number is small.
