Textured hose for people with foot issues

This may be a question I need to answer for myself through trial and error, but I sometimes have trouble with the textures of hosiery on the soles of my feet. (I have multiple nerve problems and *very* fussy feet.)

Things like the Spanx lace socks seem like they could feel pretty uncomfortable -- like walking on a doily? -- so if anyone could comment on this, I would so appreciate it.

I have extremely fussy feet. I am very particular about footwear and socks. Lace socks would be torture for me. I have seen some compression socks that are textured that I might try out.

I don't have those issues, but think the Spanx sock are very thin material, alsmost like hose, so it wouldn't be as noticeable as in something like crocheted socks (which have bothered me). At any rate, the Spanx sock are sold out, so unless we find a different source, we'll never know about them specifically.

I have these issues too. It feels like walking on a cheese grater to me. I think someone (here maybe) told me once that there are some brands of lace/fishnets that have a solid sole but I can’t remember who made them.

ETA: depending on the shoe you might be able to wear the sock over a thicker footie or ankle sock to cushion it a bit. But obvs this would only work if you’re wearing boots or similar.

YES. I know what you mean, April. What you are describing happens to me with fishnet hosiery. The socks look like they have reinforced toes though.

I think it depends very much on the sock. The only ones that feel weird on my feet are fishnets. I wear mine occasionally because they are fun but yes, I can definitely feel them.

I wear no show socks under tights, for closed shoes. I don't mind textured socks but I dislike how tights sometimes put pressure on my toes. (For boots I wear socks over the tights to protect the tights from eyelets or ankle rubbing.)

I have the same problem. No solusion other than trial and error. Some lace/fishnets are nightmares, others work well. I'll follow this post.

Interesting. I can't tolerate compression socks because they make my legs hurt really, really bad. I can easily wear lace pantyhose, though.

Thank you all for weighing in! As my feet get fussier and fussier, I feel like my footwear options grow more and more dowdy and I do not like this at all.

Drug stores sometimes have a selection of knee -highs with textured "comfort" bottoms and I love those!

In just the last couple of years I've developed sensitiv soles. Socks I easily wore a couple of years ago are torture now. Lately I've put in those drug store shoe liners without socks for short term wear. I bought men's socks in hope of finding some soft enough.
