Test - picture size (anyone have slow internet speed?)

Trying to figure out how to load a smaller pic. I have slow internet and 2 MB pix takes minutes to load.
What I wore to the birthday get together this last weekend.

For those of you with slower internet, does this pic load faster than my usual ones? (I'm trying here!) thanx

thanks Do either of you have trouble with slow loading pics normally? (I have less than 1KB download and upload speeds and even getting threads to load takes half a minute sometimes, before I even get to the pics!)

Pic loads fast here, and pics do sometimes take longer at this desk. I cannot say 100% if the difference is on your end or mine, but that's just 'cause I know nothin' about this stuff.

I believe that after you upload photos, they are automatically resized so that the photo we see is not larger than a certain max size.

Therefore if you upload a large photo vs a small photo, you will notice a difference in upload speed. However, we shouldn't see a difference in download speed when we view either photo because it has been resized.

I'm at my bf's and his internet is fast, I'll try re-loading it at home where it's slower.

(This one loaded very quickly.)

If you use a Mac I can tell you how to re-size pictures. Not much help with a pc anymore.

Thx, Rae. I tried shrinking it in my Windows Live Photo Gallery to 480x800. It was only .2MB to load instead of my usual 2MB. Guess they all look the same, small or big. Here is the small first and then the larger file (1799x3522) second. It took about 5 seconds for the small, and about one minute for the large file, to load.

Cute outfit! Love the boots. The larger file looks a bit more vibrant IMO (I can see it in the sunlight), but it probably won't make a difference unless you're really trying to convey accurate color or capture prettier light.

The dress and the outfit are great, loving the boots as well! All the pics opened fast although I agree with Shu there is just the slightest bit more saturated color in the larger file, although not 55 sec worth IMHO id stick with the smaller files and save yourself time!

I often have trouble waiting for certain members pics to load, so much so that I often don't bother looking at WIWs. I know they get resized here, but it's not enough as there is a huge difference between people's pics.

This one took about 10 seconds, which is very good.

You also look great in this - love the Grecian/deco draping toughened up with the belt and boots. Fab outfit!
