I would link this to one of Angie's older posts about florals, but there wasn't the feature available back then:-(.
I am not much of a floral girl, but still, I do always have 1 or 2 dresses for summer in this trend, usually in a monochromatic, more abstract or splash print.
I was so afraid of the big and bold, colorfull and classic florals on this one, but I had to try it anyway. It was the black background (never had a floral on black before) and the simple and thin cotton jersey fabric with a (not so) dramatic cowl neck that appealed to me...AND the longer, knee covering length(wich is still so rare to find for me).
I was also afraid of the pattern placement as we on YLF all know it can be so weird sometimes.-). My fears came true, and I think my dress hasn't the best pattern placement(see the bust area), but as I'm not really fond of wearing it sleveless anyway, I will wear it mostly with a topper of a kind so then, I find it is OK. Using a topper will also help in showcasting my florals in a more subtle and wearable/bearable way for me.
What's your opinion? Do these florals overhelm me, aren't they too harsh for my complexion?
My favourite versions are wearing it with the navy shrug (I wear like this today for the office:-)) and the blue distressed denim jacket(which seems to be too hot for our weather right now, but will come out to play on a gloomier, rainy day).
PS. I also bought it in plain black, for a safety version(even if only wearing it around the house). Fabric is so thin, that I have to wear a little underdress with it for work, but see if I can do without when on holidays in the big heat.
Thanx for looking and commenting.
