Frances - I hope theives who steal our beloved jewellery rot in H#LL! I had a pretty citrine and gold ring of my late mother that disappeared at my club. I left signs around that club for weeks - begging for its return, offering a big reward - until one of the senior staff took me aside and gave me a very serious talk; it's a "chi chi" club and they didn't appreciate my "LOST RING" signs everywhere.
Then, my house was robbed and the Edwardian gold necklace with 25 large amethysts that my late dad had given my late mother for their 25th wedding anniversary was stolen. I swear, if I ever found the person who took that necklace, his own mother wouldn't be able to recognize him after the butt kicking I'd give him.
But... oops... this post was meant to say, so sorry about your grandmother's ring. I feel your pain.
