Hi all, I picked up my new specs last Thursday evening and had a haircut same evening. Not sure if you will all be happy. However I am happy and that is most important! These are also the first choice of my DH, DD1 and DD2. DS was not asked!
Pic 1: last Thursday SYC, 1st wear this year of 2019 Verge olive/gold top. 2010 black pants only 18th wear, black sandals from Noosa Australia 2017, 13th wear ( bit plain and not as comfy as hoped, so not worn more).
Pic 2: new specs picked up that day and new haircut
Pic 3: today. 2018 red print top, 23rd wear. Pale green cuffed 2012 pants, 53rd wear. Red crochet flats 2015, 24th wear.
Pic 4: specs today with dangly earrings.

Like your colorful outfit in #3 - red color is working well for you.
New haircut and specs look great - especially with red lipstick and blue earrings! Great photo #4.

I like the hair and the glasses - especially in the last photo. They are a good size and not overwhelming on you - but stylish.

Red lipstick suits you.

Disappointing about the black sandals but that happens to me too. Shoe comfort is not always possible to pick.

You absolutely made the right choice. All of us on the forum are happy if you are happy. I loved Angie's post yesterday - it is really all about how things make us feel. These are lovely specs on you and I like how they don't dominate your face or compete with your earrings.

I love the haircut too - a very fashionable start to 2020.

Nice! The subtle pattern on the top of the rims add interest. Glad you are happy. Picking new frames can be exhausting.

Jenni -- your pleasure and comfort top all! The specs look very nice on you. I especially like the subtle top detail, which I know must appeal to you. And it must feel great to have new, scratch-free lenses! (I know how they scratch despite our best efforts, over time. Mr. Suz was amazed when he picked up his latest prescription!)

That is a shame about the black sandals. I have found that the angle strap can be a problem -- and it frustrates me because I love the look -- I think it visually extends the legline. But my own experiments with similar styles went one of two ways. With one pair, the strap just didn't hold my foot in, so I was always cramping my toes to keep the sandal on. Ugh. With the other pair, it was snug (despite elastic for stretch) and felt too tight over the bony top portion of the foot! I guess my instep or arch were not the right shape. Oh well. Onwards!

Oh that’s lovely everyone, thank you. These were not the ones you all preferred before. These however ended up costing I think $769 rather than the around $1300 for the titanium ones. So a bit more than half the price, and I felt they were more similar to other long ago pairs I had liked best.
Glad you like them.
Cardiff girl, I didn’t get around to asking DS because I wondered if he even notices what his mother looks like. He has made no comment at all on the new specs. I think not on his radar at all. He is 23 and studying engineering!

I went back and looked. I didn’t really see the pattern in the first pics! It feels stronger here. I like that!

Suz and Sal, about the black sandals, it is strange. They are so similar to the “walking sandals” they replaced, but somehow my toes feel mildly squashed. Maybe it is the diagonal strap Suz, thank you for the suggestion which I will bear in mind another time. I have been walking in Skechers with socks even in summer, instead.

Thank you Shevia. I liked that too, and the necklace has a sort of triple knot as well which I thought echoed curvy lines. Small things to make us happy!

Think YLF in the new specs and cut! I always wanted a kind of "transparent" on my face frames, it is the best way to resemble my face's aesthetic prior glasses--think it can be very feminine- problem I like contrast on my no contrast face, too- but never bite the bullet for purchasing 2 different frames on the same prescription...

Your new glasses look perfect with your hair and face. You look really fab in #1--the proportions of top and pants are chic, and the design of the details are interesting. And of course, red, as you wear in #3/4, is always a great colour on you.

Thanks Rachylou! I think that all specs look different when you try them on with just the ordinary glass in them rather than your proper prescription, and also maybe with a price sticker on. Plus when trying on your expression may be different, you may not have the same lipstick, etc etc. Once you’ve actually chosen them I suppose there is no going back and you’re smiling trying to look your best!
I have been wearing them for 9 days now and am very happy.
