Snow finally arrived yesterday and today's temperature was well below freezing all day. My toesies were cold so I dressed from the feet up: these warm fuzzy squirrel socks were a gift from new son-in-law, and don't suit my workday life. I just kept adding sweater layers. Striped turtleneck, short-sleeved sweater dress, and Nordic print sweater vest created by hacking a too-small sweater to get leg warmers from the sleeves.
I still had to make hospital rounds today, but en route I stopped in at my favourite thrift shop. I'm always on the lookout for another beret, since I end up losing one every winter. This white wool one I found 2 weeks ago and I hope I can hang on to it! The only other item I've decided I could use for this winter is more turtleneck sweaters.
I found nothing on the sweater rack, so moved on to the giant bin of winter accessories, mostly scarves. I had to really dig to the bottom, and the only beret I found was yellow and green, not my thing.
But lying on top was this cashmere rollneck sweater! So of course it came home with me, and trying it on I discovered it's tunic length.
Also in the bin, these two scarves: plum and gold pashmina, in actual pashmina wool and silk, and multicoloured floral, a good quality polyester that feels like washed silk. Both perfect for my sister (she confirmed by text). Although I just might wear them before she comes to visit at Christmas...
Not pictured, but also came home with me: a scarf in the Dress Gordon tartan (matches my family kilt), and a great pair of leather driving gloves.
