Today was the annual local art festival, which was moved from July to October last year. Thank goodness for cooler time of year! It was a gorgeous day, mild and sunny. The festival has shrunk a little in participating artists and attendance, but all was lovely anyway.

I’ve had these Born leather oxfords for years and haven’t worn them more than ten or twenty times. They are comfortable but I never liked the color, very close to my skin color, light tan? Pale beige? This week I decided that I had nothing to lose and polished them with “cordovan” which in the container looked like a dark purplish red. This did not completely cover the tan, but is more like a stain. I replaced the tan laces with some cobalt blue ones I found in our shoe care bin. Successfully rehabbed these shoes! Now they are a darker color, but not brown, with quirky touch of colored laces.

I also got to wear this long sleeved shirt I made for the first time. The back is from a fabric panel and I used a print and a stripe I’d had for a long time for the other parts. There are three kinds of buttons, two on the placket and a third for the cuffs, all from my sewing inventory.

Wide leg, raw hem jeans from Old Navy, last early spring purchase.

I hope everyone had a great Sunday to enjoy being outside, or relaxing in your favorite way.
